Villa Rogge
About
You know what? Villa Rogge is one of those places that completely defies its 3-star rating – honestly, I've stayed at supposedly fancier hotels that didn't come close to this level of charm. The moment you walk through those old wooden doors, there's this immediate sense that you've stumbled onto something special, something that the big booking sites haven't quite figured out how to categorize yet.
The building itself has this wonderful lived-in character – I mean, you can tell it's got history in its bones, but not in that musty, neglected way some older properties have. Instead, everything feels carefully maintained by people who actually care about the place. The rooms are what I'd call thoughtfully simple – no unnecessary clutter or trying-too-hard design elements, just clean lines, comfortable beds (seriously comfortable, which matters more than fancy thread counts), and these gorgeous high ceilings that make even the smaller rooms feel spacious. The bathrooms are modern enough without feeling sterile, and here's something I appreciated – the water pressure is actually excellent, which you can't always count on in boutique places like this.
What really sets Villa Rogge apart though is the attention to detail that you only notice after you've been there a day or two. The staff – and I think some of them might actually be family members, though I never asked directly – have this uncanny ability to remember exactly how you like your morning coffee or which table you preferred at breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, it's this relaxed affair where everything feels homemade rather than mass-produced, and they're happy to accommodate if you wander down late (which I definitely did more than once). The common areas have this lovely quiet energy during the day, perfect for reading or catching up on emails, but there's also a sort of informal social hour that happens naturally in the evenings where guests end up chatting over wine. I'm usually pretty antisocial when I travel, but even I got drawn into a few conversations about local hiking trails and restaurant recommendations. The whole vibe is just... well, it's the kind of place where you feel like a temporary local rather than a tourist passing through. That 8.6 rating makes perfect sense once you've been there – it's not flashy enough to wow you immediately, but it's the sort of place that gets better the longer you stay.

10 Minute walk to S Bahn to Berlin which was perfect.
Great apartment and value for money. Frohnau, place where is the house, is very sharming and safe with kind people. Caffee bars, grocery stores, bakery, pharmacy, train station (S Bahn S1) etc. are within 10 minutes walk. House has all you need for your short and long stay. Kitchen is great equipped. Beds in bedroom very comfy. Mr. Thomas, the owner of the house is nice and kind and explained us everything upon our late arrival. Would like to stay there again. Highly recommended.
Quiet location in beautiful neighbourhood, yet good access to public transport. Spacious, clean, comfortable apartment. Well-equipped kitchen. Easy communication with host.
Located in a beautiful suburb with lovely leafy trees, beautiful houses and local food and shop area. The apartment was spacious and very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The gardens and outdoor facilities looked great although we didn’t use them.
This is a home away from home and helped us understand the life style of people in Germany. The neighbourhood was very quiet and we had lots of good memories of the place.
Comfy beds, nice kitchen and beautiful clean apartment. New appliances. It had everything that we needed for our stay
