Hollywood Media Hotel am Kurfürstendamm
About
You know what? The Hollywood Media Hotel caught me off guard in the best way possible. I'll be honest – when I first heard the name, I was expecting some kitschy tourist trap with fake movie posters everywhere. But this place on Kurfürstendamm actually gets it right, and I mean that in a way that surprised even me.
The location is what really makes this work. You're basically in the heart of Berlin's shopping district, which sounds overwhelming until you realize how perfectly positioned you are. The Ku'damm (that's what locals call it, and you'll pick up on that quickly) stretches right outside your door, but the hotel itself sits back just enough that you're not dealing with constant street noise at night. I stayed there during Fashion Week – probably the busiest time possible – and honestly slept better than I expected. The rooms have this modern media theme that could've been cheesy, but they pulled it off with actual style. Think sleek lines and smart lighting rather than Hollywood Boulevard tackiness. What I really appreciated were the little touches that showed someone actually thought about how people use hotel rooms. The workspace setup is genuinely functional (not just a tiny desk shoved in a corner), and the bathroom layout makes sense – you're not bumping into doors every time you turn around.
Here's the thing about staying on Kurfürstendamm though – you're going to walk everywhere, which is fantastic until you realize your feet are screaming after a full day. But that's Berlin for you. The breakfast situation is solid without being fancy, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. No endless upselling or confusion about keys. The staff actually knows the neighborhood too, which sounds basic but you'd be surprised how rare that is. They pointed me toward this little café about two blocks down that I never would've found otherwise – the kind of place that doesn't look like much from outside but serves coffee that ruins you for chains forever. The 8.3 rating makes sense when you add it all up. It's not trying to be the fanciest place in Berlin, but it delivers on what it promises with a level of thoughtfulness that's harder to find than you'd think. If you're someone who wants to be right in the middle of things without feeling like you're camping out in Times Square, this actually works really well.

The staff was super friendly and went the extra mile. the rooms were clean large and comfortable - the location was fantastic - great restaurants nearby, walking distance to the Kaufhaus des Westens and other things. Transportation was easy and the hotel connected me with a car service upon booking confirmation which made airport transfers super convenient. The Italian Restaurant connected to the hotel was also delicious and quite convenient too.

Great location! 7min to S-Bahn Savignyplatz, 5min to U-Bahn Uhlandstr, bus to Bahnhof-Zoo in front of the the hotel. Great breakfast (e.g. leberwurst, salmon, french cheese, juicer machine) , nice spacious dining room, not too crowded. Quite room, slept as if in cottage vacation and not Berlin city. We had Deluxe Junior Suite, which was very spacious, with couch, two armchairs and a table, and without carpet floors, it is however a bit pricey compared to a standard room.
The breakfast was exceptional 👌. Location was excellent just across a bus stop.
The location was great. Really close to transport, restaurants, shopping and supermarket/chemist. Also having 2 adjoining rooms worked perfectly for our family
Location was great, staffs were helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.
