Honestly, when I first pulled up to Homaris Apartments on Frankfurter Allee, I wasn't expecting much – the name sounds pretty corporate, right? But you know what, this place actually surprised me in all the right ways. It's tucked into this stretch of Frankfurter Allee that feels authentically Berlin, not the touristy bits everyone writes about. You've got actual neighborhoods here, with corner bakeries where locals grab their morning pretzels and tram stops that'll get you anywhere you need to go without the tourist markup.

The apartments themselves have this lived-in comfort that I really appreciated. I mean, it's not trying to be some Instagram-perfect boutique hotel – it's just solid, well-maintained spaces that feel like someone's actually thought about how people live day to day. The kitchenettes are properly equipped (not just for show), and honestly, after a week of eating out in Berlin, being able to make coffee exactly how I like it in the morning was worth its weight in gold. The 8.0 rating makes total sense once you're there – it's the kind of place that does the basics really well without any unnecessary fuss. My room faced the street, and yeah, you'll hear some tram noise in the early morning, but it's not the kind that keeps you up at night. Actually adds to that authentic Berlin vibe if you ask me.
