Homaris Apartments Frankfurter Allee
About
First Impressions
Walking up to Homaris Apartments Frankfurter Allee, you immediately get that "local Berlin" vibe rather than typical tourist hotel energy. The building sits right on one of the city's main arteries, but honestly, that's exactly what makes it work so well. This three-star property doesn't try to be something it's not — it's clean, modern, and positioned perfectly for anyone who wants to experience Berlin like someone who actually lives here. The entrance feels more like stepping into a well-designed apartment building than a traditional hotel, which makes sense given the name.
Location & Neighborhood
Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is where Berlin's creative energy really lives, and staying at Homaris Apartments puts you right in the thick of it. Frankfurter Allee itself is this fascinating mix of old East Berlin architecture and new development — you'll see remnants of the GDR era alongside trendy cafes and galleries. The location scores consistently high with guests (recent ratings hit 8.7), and I can see why. You're close enough to walk to Warschauer Straße for nightlife, but far enough from the chaos to actually get some sleep. The U-Bahn connections are solid too, which means getting to Museum Island or Charlottenburg doesn't require planning your entire day around transit.
The Apartments
These aren't your standard hotel rooms — they're actual apartment-style accommodations with kitchenettes and living spaces that feel lived-in rather than sterile. The design leans modern without being cold, and you know what really impressed me? The attention to practical details that matter when you're staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. Having a proper fridge and cooking facilities means you can hit the local markets (there's a great one nearby) and prepare your own meals. The Wi-Fi works reliably, the beds are comfortable enough, and the bathrooms are clean and well-maintained — basically everything you need without unnecessary frills.
Getting Around
What really sets this place apart is how it connects you to both sides of Berlin's personality. Head west and you're in the polished, tourist-friendly areas within 20 minutes. Go east or south and you're exploring neighborhoods where locals actually hang out — the kind of places where you'll find the best döner kebab at 2 AM or stumble across an underground art opening. The couples who stay here seem to particularly appreciate this flexibility (they rate the location 8.6), probably because it gives you options whether you want a romantic dinner in Mitte or drinks at some dive bar that doesn't show up in guidebooks.
Why Guests Love It
Homaris Apartments Frankfurter Allee works because it doesn't oversell itself. It's a solid, well-located base that lets Berlin be the star rather than trying to compete with the city. The apartment setup means you can settle in properly, and the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg location puts you where things are actually happening. For travelers who want to experience Berlin's authentic rhythm rather than just tick off major sights, this place delivers exactly what you need. The consistent high ratings for location tell the real story — guests discover they're staying somewhere that feels genuinely connected to the city's pulse.

Was clean and secure
Was ok, but for the kind of money you are paying they are very very demanding with the check out procedures, you have to take all your rubbish out yourself etc… all in all just OK
Location was good and well connected, the property was clean, cozy and easy to find. There are a lot of nice cafes, restaurants and bars nearby.
All good. But the shower drain needs an upgrade.
Easy check-in process, good location, the apartment was nice and clean.
