Hotel Brandies an der Messe
About
You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Brandies an der Messe? It's one of those places that doesn't try to be fancy but somehow gets everything right. I mean, it's a 3-star hotel – you're not expecting marble lobbies or champagne service – but the moment you walk in, there's this solid, unpretentious vibe that just works. The lobby has this warm wood paneling that feels more like a well-maintained family business than a corporate chain, and honestly, that 8.8 rating makes total sense once you've stayed there.
The thing about this place is it knows exactly what it is. The rooms are clean and comfortable without any unnecessary frills – good beds (actually good, not just adequate), decent-sized bathrooms, and windows that actually open if you want fresh air instead of recycled AC. I stayed during what must have been a busy conference week, and even with the hotel pretty full, it never felt chaotic or overwhelmed. The staff – and this is where you really notice the difference – they remember your name after the first day. Not in a forced, over-friendly way, but like they actually pay attention to who's staying there. Check-in was smooth, no drama with the key cards, and when I needed an extra towel around 10 PM, they brought it up without making me feel like I was asking for a kidney.
What I really appreciated was how quiet the place stays, even though you can tell it caters to business travelers and people visiting for trade shows (hence the "an der Messe" part – it's definitely positioned for the exhibition crowd). The walls are thick enough that you're not hearing every conversation in the hallway, and the air conditioning doesn't sound like a jet engine warming up. Breakfast was simple but fresh – proper coffee, not that bitter conference-room stuff, and they keep it stocked even if you wander down at 9:30 instead of the crack of dawn. There's something to be said for a place that handles the basics really well instead of trying to wow you with amenities they can't quite pull off. It's the kind of hotel where you sleep well, wake up refreshed, and don't spend your whole stay dealing with little annoyances that make you wish you'd booked somewhere else.

It was the perfect location to start our bike trip ! We were kindly offered a safe place to store the bikes overnight.
The old school charm
Perfect location - just 20 mins away from city centre by U-bahn. Very authentic
Good location, about a 20-minutes walk to the DRK-Klinikum, if you have business there ;), and right in front of the Kaiserdamm metro station. There are plenty of local restaurants nearby. I, personally, appreciated the hotel's antique design. The breakfast was good, and the staff were quite friendly. Overall, I had a comfortable stay.
very nice
- good location - clean room - good water pressure in the shower
The reseption and kitchen staffs very friendly, thank you about for ur hospitality. The retro elevator just amazing, we just took lots of selfie there and also the entrance about rooms look like harry potter gryfindor entrance. I like also breakfasts, very cozy environment and nearest metro. I definitely recommended this hotel for sure.
We came 2 hrs earlier than the check-in time, but I did message the property asking if we could store our bags, and they told me our room was ready! The check-in was seamless and the front lady was really nice. The hotel is beautiful. It's an old building with a fascinating elevator! The bed was comfy and the room was clean. It's located just a short walk from Ubahn station, so it's very well connected.
A beautiful building with unique atmosphere, clean and well maintained, excellent location - close to many shops, restaurants, and right next to the metro station, and really friendly and helpful staff. Thank you.
Good location for the Messe and metro
