June Six Hotel Berlin City West
About
You know what struck me first about the June Six Hotel? It's actually tucked away on this quiet residential street in Charlottenburg – Knesebeckstr. 80 to be exact – and I mean, you'd walk right past it if you weren't looking. But that's honestly part of its charm. While everyone's fighting over rooms near Potsdamer Platz or cramming into Mitte, you're here in what feels like a proper Berlin neighborhood where locals actually live.
The whole vibe is refreshingly unpretentious for a city that can sometimes try too hard. Sure, it's a 3-star place, but they've done something smart with the space – clean lines, decent-sized rooms (well, decent for Berlin standards), and none of that fake-industrial nonsense you see everywhere. The staff actually seems to know the area, which is rarer than you'd think. When I asked about getting to Museum Island, the guy at reception didn't just point me toward the nearest U-Bahn – he mentioned that the 109 bus from right around the corner is actually faster during rush hour and drops you closer to the Pergamon. That's the kind of local insight you don't get from chain hotels.
Location-wise, it's brilliant if you know Berlin even a little bit. You're practically neighbors with the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and all that Ku'damm shopping chaos, but step back onto Knesebeckstr and it's like someone turned the volume down. The residential feel means you'll hear normal city sounds – trams in the distance, people walking their dogs – instead of drunk tourists at 3 AM. There's this excellent little Turkish place two blocks over that I stumbled onto completely by accident, and honestly, that's the kind of discovery that makes a trip. The Savignyplatz S-Bahn station is close enough that you can reach pretty much anywhere in the city without much fuss, and if you're planning day trips, you're not battling through tourist central just to catch your train. The 8.2 rating makes perfect sense to me – it's not trying to be the Adlon, but it delivers exactly what most travelers actually need: a comfortable bed, reliable wifi, and a location that puts you in the real Berlin without sacrificing convenience.

Superb
The location was very good. Handy for the S-bahn and restaurants.
Nothing
Modern, comfortable room
+ Good location, very close to the Savigny Platz and its S-Bahn station + Modern, relatively spacious, well-equipped, and up-to-date room; attractive interior; bedside cabinets with lamps + Great shower: strong beam; no door, no threshold nor curtain, just a long glass wall on one side + Water kettle and Nespresso machine (for those with low expectations of coffee quality) in the room + Easy to reach room via stairs instead of elevator + Easy to operate room temperature control panel + Curtain blocks out the light pretty well
- S-Bahn and (inter)national trains pass by close to the window (not too bad, because insulation is OK); for € 10 more, you can get a room on the other side of the hotel - Nitpick: water kettle and coffee machine cannot be operated concurrently (sharing a wall socket; cord of water kettle too short anyway, needs to be used on the other side of the cabinet) - Check in only from 15 h.
Staf and services are very good. My 4th accomodation
Breakfast should be grow up.
Superb
Great location, nice and lively area around, tasty breakfast
Necessary to use public parking or parkouse nearby
Great location with all the conveniences close by and a really nice atmosphere
Hotel is located in a really good place, close to the Kurfürstendamm and next to a tram station. It also was in a really cozy setting in a small side street with many nice restaurants and cafe nearby. I really loved the setting and liked that I could see passing trains and trams from my window.
Nothing really that bothered me, a small mini fridge would have been convenient but definitely not a must
Conviently located & comfortable hotel room
Design of the room, offering water and coffee/tea, airco, bed
Nothing in particular
Good stay
Location Easy to dral with
Nothing to complain about
Superb
We have stayed here before and have had very comfertable stays on both occasions.
Very good
Bed was very comfortable and the room clean.
The safe in the room wasn't working but they offered to change the room.
It was hard finding an affordable hotel in Berlin this weekend. Glad I found June Six.
Modern, comfortable room, good beds, lovely breakfast. Great and kind breakfast & reception personel. City centre easily reachable via S-bahn station 3 minutes from hotel. Also enough dining options in direct area. It was actually fun to have a room at the trainline side (if you are a bit of a train enthousiast), because you can watch the tracks right from your room. I didnt have to use earplugs in the night.
There are homeless people, also under the bridges next to the hotel.. but that is a Berlin-wide problem, and can probably be found around every hotel.. It is always sad to see homeless people (and they really do stink a bunch). I wish there would be a solution.
