Kudamm Apartments
About
You know what, Kudamm Apartments surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. When I first walked up to 11 Ansbacher Straße, I'll be honest, the building looks pretty standard from the outside. Nothing fancy, just a typical Berlin residential block in Schöneberg. But here's the thing about this neighborhood that most tourists miss: you're actually in one of the city's most livable areas, tucked between the tourist chaos of Ku'damm and the local charm that makes Berlin feel like home.
The apartments themselves are what I'd call "functional comfort" – they're clean, well-maintained, and honestly, they feel more like staying in a friend's place than a hotel. The kitchenettes are small but actually usable (I made coffee every morning without wanting to throw the machine out the window), and the beds are decent enough that I didn't wake up feeling like I'd been hit by a U-Bahn train. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Ansbacher Straße isn't one of those streets where drunk tourists stumble around at 3 AM singing Beatles songs. The soundproofing isn't perfect, but you're mostly hearing normal city life, not party chaos. One thing though – the elevator is tiny and moves like it's powered by hamsters, so if you've got massive suitcases, well, good luck with that.
But here's why I'd actually recommend this place: location, location, and did I mention location? You can walk to Wittenbergplatz in about eight minutes, which means you're connected to basically everywhere in Berlin. The KaDeWe department store is right there if you need anything fancy, but more importantly, you've got normal grocery stores, decent cafes, and actual Berliners living their lives around you. I found this great little Turkish place on Motzstraße – maybe a three-minute walk – that serves döner that'll ruin every other döner for you. And if you want to hit the tourist spots, Potsdamer Platz is a quick U-Bahn ride away, but you can escape back to this quieter pocket when you need a break from all that. The 7.1 rating makes sense to me – it's not luxury, but it's solid, practical, and the kind of place where you can actually experience Berlin instead of just visiting it. Plus, honestly, you're paying for the location more than anything else, and in this case, that's money well spent.

Good location very near kadewe
The location is the best, the cleaning workers are so humble and friendly.
I don’t like that I have to call a number to open the door so if your phone don’t have batterie you stay outside and sometimes the call does not work and you have to call 3-4 times
Very good
Very well located, good value for money.
Some of the equipment would need update, but it had all necessary things for the stay.
Good
The location is good. The apartments are spacious and also well-cleaned!
We were 4 days and on the 2nd day there was such a bad smell coming from the sewer that we had to sleep with the window open. and the transparent doors into the hallway with curtains were also unexpected😀 But it's a matter of habit🙆♀️
Very good
The apartments are clean and tidy. .
There are several accommodation units in the complex, so it is possible that the pictures do not correspond to your apartment. To enter the facility, you must call a certain number and enter the code that you receive from the owner every time, so it can be a bit inconvenient for foreigners
8/10
Lokation
Locking system. Sometimes it was really annoying that you have to enter 3 codes every time to get to the apartment. A particular minus, in order to open the front door you have to call the phone number, then type in the code and it doesn't really work the first time, if you're in a hurry to go to the toilet, it's not practical at all.
Really lovely apartment
It was close to everything in the city, and served us exactly as needed
We found the system to get through the doors a bit fiddly and annoying but for only a couple days stay it was manageable
Perfect to stay in Berlin for a short period of time, travelling solo or with a partner 😛
The location is KING. Close to the subway station and to the center of the city. It’s perfect
Only by putting better bed linen and a couple of decent towels, the experience would be SO MUCH BETTER
Great place, enjoyable stay.
Really good location, near the U-Bahn. Close to amenities as well as LGBT nightlife. We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Instructions to get in a bit lengthy as different codes need to go on different doors but we’ve got the hang of it. Overall I’d defo recommend this place.
The bathroom was a bit poor. Shower door was slightly dislodged and therefore was not closing properly, flooding the bathroom floor every time.
Lively and comfortable, in the heart of the city.
Super close to a central station, grocery shop round the corner and lively area. Apartment was comfy and facilities were good. Double bed was particularly spacious and nice.
Getting into the flat using the phone number was a bit tiring after a few times. Was difficult to properly lock the apartment door on the way out. Little bit of wear and tear on furniture, but nothing too bad.
Really great apartments, excellent location but don’t think I’d call it luxury
It was close to most things
The ceiling is quiet low, hit my head a few times and stairs were a bit steep not great if you have arthritis
