limehome Berlin Chausseestraße
About
You know what caught me off guard about limehome Berlin Chausseestraße? It's actually way more polished than I expected from a 3-star place. I mean, when you hear "limehome," you're thinking budget chain, right? But this spot on Chausseestraße – which, by the way, runs right through that interesting no-man's land between Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg – has this surprisingly sleek thing going on. The building itself blends into the neighborhood perfectly, none of that flashy tourist trap nonsense you see closer to Brandenburg Gate.
The location is honestly brilliant if you know Berlin even a little bit. You're literally a five-minute walk from Nordbahnhof S-Bahn station, which connects you to pretty much everywhere without having to deal with the U-Bahn crowds. Plus – and this is something most visitors miss – you're right in the heart of where actual Berliners hang out. There's this great little späti (corner store) right around the corner that stays open late, and honestly, the Turkish bakery two blocks down makes better breakfast than most hotel restaurants I've tried. The rooms themselves are compact but smartly designed, sort of like someone actually thought about how people live rather than just shoving furniture into boxes. Everything's clean and modern, though I'll be honest, the walls are a bit thin – you might hear your neighbors if they're having a particularly animated conversation.
What really won me over was how effortless everything felt. Check-in is mostly digital (which sounds impersonal but actually works great when you're arriving late), the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, and there's this nice communal area on the ground floor where you can grab coffee or just decompress after walking around the city all day. The 8.5 rating makes total sense once you're there – it's not trying to be fancy, but it gets all the important stuff right. I stayed there during a particularly busy week in summer, and while the area gets lively in the evenings (you're close to some popular bars and that whole Torstraße scene), it settles down enough that you can actually sleep. The pricing feels fair for what you get, especially considering you're in central Berlin without paying Unter den Linden prices. If you're the type of traveler who wants a solid, no-fuss base for exploring the city rather than a hotel that becomes its own destination, this place just works.

The environment and the area
Location was good. Spacious room and all facilities for comfortable stay.
Location (close to all main places to visit), comfortable settlement, modern design. Convenient check in/out, keyless doors.
The location is very convenient. Our room was spacious, modern, wonderfully designed and included a private shower and a mini kitchen. Special thanks for the electric cattle, a microwave, a stove, a toaster, a coffee machine and a dish washer. We almost didn't need to interact with the staff, as all check-in and checkout takes place online.
Good location, big room, and good facilities.
Very spacious
Nice apartments next to the center of Berlin, five minutes away on foot from the metro station.
