Das Copnic Berlin
About
You know what really struck me about Das Copnic Berlin? It's one of those places that feels like you've discovered something the guidebooks haven't caught onto yet. Tucked away on Alter Markt in Treptow-Köpenick, it sits right in this charming cobblestone square that honestly feels more like a small German town than part of Berlin. I mean, you're still in the city limits, but there's something refreshingly unhurried about this whole area - locals walking their dogs in the morning, the smell of fresh bread drifting from the bakery next door, and none of that tourist chaos you get around Brandenburg Gate.
The hotel itself is this lovely converted building that keeps surprising you. Sure, it's a 3-star place, but whoever runs it clearly cares about the details. The rooms have these wonderfully high ceilings and windows that actually open (thank god), plus they've managed that tricky balance of keeping the historical character while making everything feel fresh and clean. I stayed on the second floor facing the square, and honestly, I could've spent hours just watching the daily rhythm of the neighborhood unfold below. The beds are properly comfortable too - none of that rock-hard European mattress nonsense you sometimes encounter. What really won me over though was the breakfast situation. It's not fancy, but it's real - actual local cheeses, bread that tastes like bread should, and coffee strong enough to wake the dead. The staff speak excellent English but seem genuinely pleased when you attempt a bit of German, even if you butcher the pronunciation like I did.
Here's the thing about staying in Köpenick - you're about 30 minutes from central Berlin by S-Bahn (the Köpenick station is maybe a 7-minute walk), but you get to experience this whole different side of the city. There's the Spree River literally around the corner, perfect for morning walks, and the old town hall where that famous Captain of Köpenick incident happened - locals love telling that story if you ask. Parking's actually reasonable here, which is a miracle in Berlin, and the whole area gets wonderfully quiet in the evenings. The hotel's 8.3 rating makes total sense once you've been there - it's not trying to be something it's not, just doing the fundamentals really well. I'd definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel like I was experiencing Berlin the way locals do rather than checking off tourist boxes. Just pack comfortable walking shoes because those cobblestones are charming but unforgiving after a long day of exploring.
Berlin hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic Mitte district to elegant converted buildings and modern accommodations near the Brandenburg Gate.

All in all, it was a good stay for us, the nature is close and the rooms are were really clean.
-Good value for the money -very clean -friendly staff
-The location was not easy to reach -due to limited open hours of the reception no access to the elevator after office hours -no ac, no fridge in the room
Stay over for concert
Quiet location, green and has a good vibe. The room was clean and had a service as well during our stay.
No microwave and kettle that makes it hard to have some breakfast at the place. Takes a long time to commute from the city center (was expected but considering 50 minutes it's a bit pricey).
Superb
Easy to find, good location
Expensive parking, loud neighbors (not hotel fault), but we heard everything in the evening
Good
Room was clean and quiet and looked quite recently refurbished.
Lift not accessible after hours. If you have to leave early in the morning, you have to carry your luggage downstairs.
Nice hotel in beautiful surroundings, close to public transport, very good value for money.
Nice and comfortable hotel in the old part of Köpenick, close to public transport, although it takes a while to get to Berlin city centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good value for money.
No night staff, so if anything goes wrong, there might be a problem.
Very good
The room was spotless! Everything looked new and clean. Very confortable bed. Very complete and clean bathroom.
the instructions before arrival are a little bit confussing. I didnt have any problem but I can be take in consideration to write more clear messages
Superb
Comfort room, good breakfast, close to the old town and restaurants.
Authentic and fascinating place with a lot of plants and rivers around!
Kindness and politeness of the staff. The receptionist was friendly and helped me to find the best application for transportation search. The room was super clean and comfort for staying.
Unfortunately, it was quite noisy with open windows because of the road outside the window. I needed to close the windows in order to isolate the room from the noice, but occasionally I could still hear some noices outside the door (sounds of the opening doors, keys, steps, etc.). Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay as the other traits compensated this drawback!
Very good
Comfortable bed, good location
No tea or coffee in the room. Parking on site expensive
