Living Hotel Berlin Mitte
About
You know what struck me first about Living Hotel Berlin Mitte? The name actually makes sense once you're there – it really does feel more like temporary living than typical hotel staying. I mean, the moment you walk into the lobby, there's this understated elegance that's distinctly Berlin without trying too hard. The design has that clean, modern German aesthetic but with enough warmth that you don't feel like you're checking into a minimalist museum.
The location is honestly pretty perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without the tourist circus. Mitte can be tricky – some parts feel like theme park versions of Berlin, but this spot sits in one of those pockets where you'll actually see locals grabbing coffee in the morning. I loved that I could walk to Museum Island in about fifteen minutes, but also stumble onto those little side streets with the kind of bars and restaurants that don't show up in guidebooks. The U-Bahn connections are solid too, which matters more than people think when you're dealing with Berlin's sprawl.
What really won me over, though, were the details that show someone was actually thinking about how people live temporarily in a city. The rooms have this lived-in quality – not worn, just... comfortable in a way that feels genuine. The beds are proper firm (thank god, because German mattresses can be hit or miss), and there's enough storage that you can actually unpack if you're staying more than a night or two. The bathroom setup is smart too – good water pressure, which you honestly can't take for granted in older Berlin buildings. I stayed during a pretty busy week in summer and never had issues with noise, even though Mitte can get lively. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it's not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it nails the fundamentals while adding those small touches that make you want to recommend it to friends. The front desk staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood, which is rarer than it should be. When I asked about finding a good späti (that's corner store for the uninitiated) that stayed open late, the guy gave me specific directions to one two blocks away that had the best beer selection in the area. That kind of local knowledge makes all the difference when you're trying to settle into a city, even temporarily.

Such a beautifully themed hotel, the views were just incredible and I would stay here again in a heartbeat! If you’re looking for good value for money and somewhere perfectly located beside buses, the U and a 15 minute walk from a big shopping centre, you need to stay here! Staff were always smiling and so nice and helpful! Made our stay here amazing
Facilities in room

Helpful staff and position
Good location for what we were doing, handy joined rooms for us and our daughter, nice staff, very clean
Close to Metro U2 line, almost city center. Quiet city center. Very clean, cleaning every day. Complimentary water and beer every day. Good wifi. Room size is very good.
Everything was great. Few steps away from the underground station then 2 stops to Alexanderplatz.
Location was good for the Christmas markets plus all the notable sights; Reichstag, Brandenberg Gate, Under Den Linden, Checkpoint Charlie, The Wall and Jewish quarter. There were good restaurant at Alexandreplatz within 20 minutes walk.
Excellent location, the metro line is right next to the hotel, and some of the main hubs are well within a 15-min walking radius around the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated and there is a bit of wear and tear, but it sort of teleports you back a few decades, but quite pleasantly so. I was also pleasantly surprised by the complementary Berlin beer in the mini-fridge!
Clean room, nice and welcoming staff, you can bring your dog with you for extra fee
