Lofty Torstr Apartments, 4 unique units from 1-3 bedrooms in Mitte
About
You know what caught me off guard about Lofty Torstr? The building itself – it's this beautifully renovated old Berlin structure that somehow manages to feel both historic and completely modern at the same time. Walking up to Torstraße 95, you're right in the thick of Mitte, but not the touristy museum quarter part. This is where actual Berliners live and work, which honestly makes it so much better.
The apartments themselves are genuinely spacious, and I mean properly spacious – not that "European spacious" where you're bumping into furniture every five minutes. We stayed in the 2-bedroom unit and there was actually room to spread out, plus the kitchen had everything we needed (including a proper coffee machine, thank god). The design is clean without being sterile, lots of natural light, and the beds are actually comfortable – you'd be surprised how many places get that wrong. What I really appreciated was how each unit feels different; they're not cookie-cutter copies of each other, which gives the place character.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Berlin like locals do. You're a two-minute walk from some of the best coffee shops in the city – there's this little place called Five Elephant just around the corner that does incredible flat whites. Hackescher Markt is close enough to walk to when you want the tourist stuff, but far enough that you're not dealing with crowds of people taking selfies outside your front door. The U-Bahn connection at Rosenthaler Platz gets you anywhere in the city quickly, and there's actually decent parking nearby if you're brave enough to drive in Berlin (though honestly, you don't need to).
I was worried about noise since Torstraße can get busy, but the windows are solid and we slept fine – even on weekend nights when the neighborhood gets lively. The whole check-in process was smooth too; they send you codes and instructions ahead of time, so no awkward waiting around in lobbies. The only minor thing I'd mention is that the stairs can be a bit much if you're on an upper floor with heavy luggage, but that's pretty typical for these old Berlin buildings. Overall, it's the kind of place where you actually feel like you're living in the city rather than just visiting it – and with an 8.7 rating, I'm clearly not the only one who thinks so.

There is everything you need. Very comfortable
Good location for a short stay in Berlin
Yannis who checked us in was great! Kitchen was really well equipped. Very useful to have the washing machine in the bathroom. Good location close to underground station, and supermarket walking distance.
Bedroom was very narrow, no space for bedside tables and needed to squeeze alongside the bed to get in!
Conveniently located apartment perfect for a short stay in Berlin.
The location is perfect and the ground floor facing internal courtyard provided convenience and quiet.
The bedroom doesn’t have its own window, it boroughs the access to the daylight and ventilation from the hallway.
Great property at a amazing location, spacious and family friendly.
The apartment was amazing, exactly as described and indicated in photos. All amenities provided, plenty of room and the best part - location. It is an absolutely gem of a location - close to tram, bus and subway all of which are literally within 5 minutes' walk. Stores and restaurants aplenty and most of the attractions at minimal distance. Host was friendly, helpful and courteous. Only minus (which we knew - no false adverts) was no lift and apartment is on 3rd floor. But we got used to it eventually. We had a great stay.
No lift, but its not that bad.
Good location for exploring Berlin for first time
Close to U Bahn
Older style, but was still comfortable.
We loved Berlin and the apartment was great and so strategic for transport and restaurants
Very good location and good for family stay
The stairs was tricky for pram and luggage but at least it’s only 1 floor. Maybe explain there will be stairs. You should provide milk with the tea coffee it’s basic
