Mitte von Mitte – Blick auf den Turm
About
Honestly, when I first heard the name "Mitte von Mitte - Blick auf den Turm," I thought it was a bit much – but you know what? It's actually pretty accurate. This little 3-star gem sits right in the heart of Berlin's Mitte district, and yes, you really do get views of the TV Tower from most rooms. I mean, it's not like you're going to mistake it for the Ritz, but there's something genuinely charming about waking up to that iconic spike piercing the Berlin skyline.
The building itself has that slightly worn-in feel that's become pretty typical for mid-range places in this part of the city – you can tell it's been around for a while, but in a good way. The lobby's compact (okay, tiny), but the staff actually seems to know the neighborhood inside and out. When I asked about getting to Hackescher Markt late at night, the guy at reception didn't just point me toward the S-Bahn – he mentioned which exit to use and warned me about the weekend crowds spilling out of the bars on Oranienburger Straße. That kind of local insight is worth its weight in gold when you're trying to navigate Berlin's somewhat chaotic public transport after a few beers.
What really won me over was the location's practicality. You're literally a five-minute walk from Museum Island, which sounds touristy but honestly makes morning coffee runs to the cafes around Hackescher Markt ridiculously easy. The rooms are... well, they're what you'd expect from a solid 3-star place. Clean, functional, with that slightly institutional carpet that every European hotel seems to have. But here's the thing – the windows are actually decent sized, so that tower view isn't just a sliver you have to crane your neck to see. And the neighborhood gets surprisingly quiet at night, considering you're in the absolute center of everything. I was expecting sirens and trams rattling by until dawn, but it's actually pretty peaceful once the dinner crowds disperse.
The 8.2 rating makes total sense to me – it's one of those places that doesn't try to be something it's not, but executes the basics really well. The shower pressure is solid (seriously underrated when you're dealing with older Berlin buildings), check-in was smooth even when I showed up stupidly early, and they didn't bat an eye when I needed to store my luggage for a few extra hours. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the elevator is reliable – which anyone who's hauled a suitcase up four flights of narrow stairs in Mitte will appreciate. It's not going to blow your mind, but if you want to be in the thick of things without paying Unter den Linden prices, this place delivers exactly what it promises.

Location
The communication was pretty easy and I got a lot of help. Place is close to the city centre, metro was right around the corner. It was lovely, had a great time here, we had everything we needed, it’s a warm a cosy place.
Great location. Shops restaurants and transport links nearby The apartment was warm
The house host was very friendly, welcoming and did everything to make our stay in Berlin very comfortable. I emailed the host if we could have a few extra towels. He arrived the next day with towels and a few other things. When the host arrived we were in the apartment as I had sciatica pain and needed to rest as I was taking part in the Berlin marathon. He left and came back with Magnesium tablets and Muscle pain relief gel. It was so kind of him and I appreciate it so much. I was truly so touched as I didn't expect that. Thank you again so much for everything. I was able to take part in the Berlin marathon and fundraised over £1500 for the Multiple Sclerosis Charity.
