Motel Home Wittenau
About
First Impressions
Honestly, Motel Home Wittenau isn't trying to be something it's not — and that's exactly what makes it work. This three-star property sits on Holzhauser Straße in the Reinickendorf district, which I'll admit isn't the most glamorous part of Berlin. But you know what? Sometimes you need a solid, no-nonsense place to crash that won't break the bank, and this motel delivers on that promise without any pretense.
Location & Getting Around
Wittenau is one of those neighborhoods that locals know but tourists often overlook — it's residential, quiet, and actually pretty charming once you get your bearings. You're about 30 minutes from the city center by public transport, which means you can easily hit all the major sights during the day and return to a peaceful area at night. The U-Bahn connections are decent, and honestly, after a long day of sightseeing, I appreciated coming back somewhere that wasn't crawling with other tourists. Plus, there's something refreshing about seeing how regular Berliners actually live.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean and functional — think modern motel vibes rather than boutique hotel charm. The beds are comfortable enough (I slept well, which is really all that matters), and there's enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night — being in a residential area means you're not dealing with street noise or party crowds. The bathrooms are updated and the water pressure is actually pretty good, which you can't always count on in budget accommodations.
Practical Perks
Here's where this place really shines for certain travelers — they have parking available right on site, which is honestly a godsend if you're driving in Berlin. Anyone who's tried to find parking in the city center knows what a nightmare that can be, so having a guaranteed spot is worth its weight in gold. The staff is straightforward and helpful without being overly chatty, and check-in was smooth. I mean, it's not fancy, but everything works the way it should, and sometimes that's exactly what you need.
Why Guests Love It
What struck me most was how many couples I saw during my stay — turns out this place has developed quite a reputation as a solid choice for romantic getaways, which makes sense when you think about it. You get privacy, quiet surroundings, and easy access to the city without paying tourist-district prices. It's the kind of place where you can have a proper Berlin adventure during the day, then retreat somewhere peaceful in the evening. The value proposition is really strong here — you're getting clean, comfortable accommodations with practical amenities like that precious parking spot, all while staying in a neighborhood that gives you a taste of authentic Berlin life.

Clean, comfortable and not expensive
Clean
Hotel is located slightly away from the city center, but easily accesible by public transport. For us it was great location as we came to Berlin mainly for a music concert in Ernst-Reuter-Saal - 10 min walking distance from the hotel.
Clean, comfortable, cheap and quiet. No frills.
Newly renovated, very clean, quiet, and comfortable room in central location with pleasant, fresh air; friendly picnic and play area , secure parking, affordable, nearby shopping for food and household, friendly staff.
