Motel Home Wittenau
About
Look, I'll be honest – when I first pulled up to Motel Home Wittenau, I wasn't expecting much. It's tucked away in this quiet residential part of Berlin that most tourists never see, and the whole area has that authentic neighborhood vibe where you hear more German than English on the streets. But you know what? Sometimes those unassuming places surprise you.
The thing about Wittenau is that it's actually pretty perfect if you want to experience Berlin like a local instead of fighting crowds at Brandenburg Gate every day. I mean, you're still connected to everything – the U-Bahn gets you downtown in maybe 30 minutes – but you can walk to actual German bakeries in the morning and grab dinner at family-run places where the menu isn't translated into five languages. The motel itself feels more like staying at someone's well-maintained guesthouse than a corporate chain. The rooms are clean and functional (honestly, that's sometimes all you need after walking around Berlin all day), and I appreciated little touches like having decent WiFi and a proper shower with actual water pressure. The staff seemed genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions.
What I really liked was how quiet it gets at night – you're in a residential area, so no drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM or traffic noise keeping you awake. Parking was straightforward, which anyone who's driven in Berlin will tell you is basically a miracle. I stayed there during shoulder season, so I can't speak to how busy it gets in summer, but the whole area has this laid-back feel that I imagine doesn't change too dramatically. The 7.7 rating actually makes sense to me – it's not luxury, but it does what it's supposed to do without any major complaints. For the price point, you're getting solid value, especially if you're the type of traveler who spends most of your time exploring rather than lounging around the hotel. I'd definitely consider staying there again, particularly if I wanted a base that felt more like a neighborhood than a tourist zone.

Good location near Metro. Good value in Berlin.
Clean, comfortable and not expensive
Clean
Hotel is located slightly away from the city center, but easily accesible by public transport. For us it was great location as we came to Berlin mainly for a music concert in Ernst-Reuter-Saal - 10 min walking distance from the hotel.
Clean, comfortable, cheap and quiet. No frills.
Newly renovated, very clean, quiet, and comfortable room in central location with pleasant, fresh air; friendly picnic and play area , secure parking, affordable, nearby shopping for food and household, friendly staff.
