Numa Berlin Sketch
About
You know what struck me first about Numa Berlin Sketch? It's actually got this whole artistic vibe going on that doesn't feel forced or gimmicky – and trust me, I've stayed in plenty of hotels that try way too hard with their "concept." The place sits right on Grünberger Straße, which honestly is one of those streets that perfectly captures what Friedrichshain is all about. You're literally a five-minute walk from Warschauer Straße station, so getting around is dead simple, but more importantly, you're in the thick of one of Berlin's most authentic neighborhoods.
The rooms themselves are surprisingly spacious for Berlin standards (anyone who's apartment-hunted here knows what I mean), and there's this clever use of local street art influences in the design that actually works. I mean, you can tell someone put thought into making each room feel different without going overboard. The tech setup is pretty solid too – good WiFi, which isn't always a given in older Berlin buildings, and these smart room controls that aren't confusing like some places I've stayed. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, despite being on a fairly busy street. The windows do their job, which is crucial because Grünberger can get lively, especially on weekends when people are bar-hopping between Simon and Cassiopeia.
Honestly, the location is what makes this place special. You've got Boxhagener Platz just around the corner – that's where the Saturday farmer's market happens, and it's genuinely one of the better ones in the city, not just tourist stuff. Plus you're walking distance to RAW-Gelände, which is this former railway repair yard turned cultural space that most guidebooks mention but don't really explain properly. It's where locals actually go for concerts, flea markets, and some pretty decent food trucks. The East Side Gallery is maybe a 15-minute stroll, but more importantly, you're close to all these little cafes and bars that don't have English menus – always a good sign. I grabbed breakfast a few times at this tiny place called Café Münzenberg just down the street, and it felt like being let in on a neighborhood secret. The hotel staff actually knew about spots like this, which surprised me – usually hotel recommendations are pretty generic. They're not trying to oversell the area or push expensive tourist traps, they just know their neighborhood. At an 8.2 rating, it sits in that sweet spot where you're getting solid four-star comfort without paying Mitte prices, and you're staying somewhere that feels connected to what Berlin is actually like, not just what the postcards show.

Superb
Great area, room very comfortable
Great for a few days in Friedrichshain. Charmless but efficient
Nice location near Boxhagener platz, lots of places to eat or have a drink/coffee around No staff but fully automated processes : the future of hotels ! Large bedroom, comfortable beds. Very clean.
U/S Bahn is not close
Great location, clean and well organized. Good accommodation for Berlin
Clean with excellent location.
To reach the staff, you must connect via WhatsApp and a lot of the communication is with AI.. it’s annoying
Superb
Great location, close to lots of restaurants and bars. Comfortable and exactly what we were looking for
Great location and size of room.
Great location, large room and bath room, good tea and coffee making facilities, good toiletries. Bottled water provided.
Place was a bit of a maze, but once we worked it out, it was OK. No A/C room was hot. Had to open windows.
Superb
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Also very spacious! They also provided an AC Unit which was very helpful on one of the days.
The lack of human support. It took a day to get a reply on my question
Loved it!
Place was clean and its location was perfect for my vacation. Even if situated in a busy street it was really quiet. Easy access and felt safe.
Room was a bit dark.
Super Hop-on Hop-off accommodation
Easy and clear way of check in/out, fully digitalized accommodation. Fair enough chat-bot communication to inform us.free storage service for baggages after check out.
Very small bath cage to have a shower.
Great place, but the digital service needs to improve
Rooms are beautiful and the location is great.
Their digital-only service was annoying—had to message a lot to merge bookings, paid extra for it, and still had issues like the room code not working. Checkout link didn’t work either. The chatbot is slow and annoying, and it can take a while to reach a real person. Also, not enough toilet paper in the room. Two rolls for five nights, while paying 150 euros a night.
Superb
Spacious room, clean bathroom and ease of check in!
Nothing obviously impacting on stay, but some extra dusting would help around windows.
