Oran Apartment 6
About
Look, I'll be honest – when I first walked up to Oranienstraße 100, I wasn't expecting much from what's technically labeled as an "apartment hotel." The street's got that perfectly lived-in Berlin vibe, you know? Graffiti that's actually artistic, Turkish döner shops that smell incredible, and the kind of foot traffic that tells you locals actually live here instead of just tourists passing through.
But Oran Apartment 6 really surprised me. The building itself blends right into the Kreuzberg streetscape – no flashy signage or marble lobbies – which I actually loved. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (none of that overly formal hotel desk drama), and the moment I got into the actual space, I got it. This isn't trying to be a sterile hotel room; it's designed like someone's really well-appointed Berlin flat. The kitchen setup actually works – I mean, you could legitimately cook here if you wanted, not just heat up leftovers. Big windows let in that soft northern light that makes even February afternoons feel decent, and honestly, the whole place just felt... lived-in but clean. Comfortable in a way that expensive hotels sometimes miss entirely.
What really sold me on the location was walking around that first evening. You're literally a three-minute walk from Moritzplatz U-Bahn, which sounds boring until you realize you can be at Museum Island in twelve minutes or Prenzlauer Berg in fifteen. But here's the thing – you don't actually want to leave the neighborhood that quickly. Oranienstraße is one of those streets where you discover something new every time you walk it. There's this excellent späti (corner shop) basically next door that's open until ridiculous hours, proper Berlin bars that don't feel touristy, and some genuinely good restaurants tucked into side streets. The noise level's what you'd expect from a lively area – definitely not silent, but it's city sounds, not party chaos. I slept fine with the windows cracked open most nights.
The apartment itself handles the practical stuff really well. Good water pressure, heating that actually works, WiFi that doesn't cut out when you need it most. I appreciated little touches like decent coffee setup and enough counter space to spread out laptops or maps or whatever. Storage space actually exists, which is rarer than it should be in city accommodations. The bathroom's compact but functional – very Berlin efficient, if that makes sense.
What impressed me most was how the place manages to feel both distinctly local and genuinely comfortable for travelers. You're staying in Kreuzberg, not some sanitized version of it, but you're not roughing it either. It's the kind of setup where you could easily extend your stay a few extra days without feeling cramped or homesick. And with that 9.6 rating, I'm clearly not the only one who felt this way – though honestly, I'm almost hesitant to recommend it too enthusiastically because places like this have a way of getting discovered and losing their charm. But if you want to actually experience Berlin instead of just visiting it, this is exactly the kind of base you want.

Very nice place for visiting Berlin by foot
Fantastic place. Very clean, good access, good location, we visited Berlin by foot from this place. If you have car, your are lucky, the street is not covered by paid parking system! Of course parking space is sometimes a roulette, but who doesn't like a bit of gambling ;) Kitchen fully equipped. Beds comfortable, bathroom quite big, the room is also quite big, plus there is a huuuge radiator which makes flat warm in a minute.
Exceptional
Very clean and easy to access
Kind and helpful
Great location between the buzzing area of Kreuzberg and the popular central areas
Very practical door entrance system
Superb
Great location.
Nespresso machine available - not a single cup. Electric cattle available - not a single tea bag. A small selection of complimentary drinks is not just a nice gesture, it is a basic hospitality move to make your guests feel welcome. Not enough daily lights as all the windows are blurred. Also, none of the windows cannot be decently open to get some fresh air. Very big bathroom, but not a single shelf to leave the cosmetics.
Good
Nice location, punctual answers from owner, clean and everything brand new. Super warm and cosy.
Bed and pillows are not comfortable:( And still need some equipment for kitchen, I think it will be better for big families .
Very good
Bedroom was too hot
Fantastisk lejlighed med super placering ift. seværdigheder
Fantastisk lejlighed, vil helt klart anbefale at booke denne unikke oplevelse 😁
Exceptional
Fajne miejsce żeby zatrzymać się przejazdem w Berlinie. Bardzo komfortowe wyposażenie.
Einfach top
