You know what hit me first about Poets Place? The name actually makes sense once you're inside – there's this thoughtful, creative energy in every corner that feels distinctly Berlin, but not in that try-hard way some places do. Located on Katzbachstraße in Kreuzberg, you're honestly in one of the best spots to experience what makes this neighborhood legendary, without being right on top of the tourist chaos.
The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious for eight people – I mean, Berlin apartments aren't exactly known for their generous square footage, but this place defies that stereotype. The design hits that sweet spot between Instagram-worthy and actually livable (you know how some "design" places look great but have nowhere to put your stuff?). What really got me was the attention to details that matter when you're actually staying somewhere, not just photographing it. Proper lighting for reading, enough outlets near the beds, a kitchen that's set up like someone who cooks actually organized it. The 9.7 rating starts making sense when you realize how much they got right that other places miss.
Being in Kreuzberg means you're walking distance from Viktoriapark – honestly one of Berlin's most underrated spots, especially if you hit it around sunset. The neighborhood has this perfect mix where you'll find a proper Turkish breakfast place next to a vinyl record shop next to a late-night bar that doesn't even have a sign. It's not the sanitized version of "authentic" you get in some tourist areas; this is where actual Berliners live and hang out. The S-Bahn connections are solid too, though honestly, you might find yourself just walking everywhere because there's always something interesting happening on the streets. Fair warning though – weekends can get pretty lively (read: loud) around here, but that's sort of the point of staying in Kreuzberg, isn't it? If you wanted quiet, you'd be in Charlottenburg. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward, and they actually give you useful local recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the Brandenburg Gate like everyone else.

Exceptional
We spent 2 nights in this apartament and we couldn't be happier with our stay. Apartament was clean, spacious, beautifully decorated with everything you could possibly need. We brought bikes with us, which we could safely store when not using. Location was excellent, only 20 minutes bike ride from the city centre. Most importantly contact with the owners was amazing, extremely nice and helpful people who even recommended us a huge list of their favourite spots around the city. Overall we fully recommend staying there, no minuses found!

This uniquely designed appartment is located on a nice street with plenty of public transportation connections within a few mins walking distance. Niks & Yannis were very accommodating in their communication and very quick in their replies (even though they were apparently enjoying their own holidays during our stay, I later found out). They were super flexible and offered us to check in earlier and check out later as the schedule allowed it. The design of the appartment is certainly unique and colourful, perfectly structured for our group with 4 separate rooms / spots to sleep. Definitely recommend.
We had a few minor issues with some appliances in the house such as the dishwasher and shower. However, as soon as we made them aware it would be taken care of so this wasn’t a big problem to us. One suggestion I’d have is to arrange an extra frying pan as right now there’s only one which wasn’t enough for cooking for a group of 8 people.

this is the best apartment we have ever rented with friends. very good layout of the apartment, conducive to relaxation and shared meals. the apartment is equipped with everything you need. there really is everything here! the owners are very nice and friendly. Very clean and beautifully arranged. you feel like at home here. super location. close to the subway, bus. close to Aldi and Lidl stores. We will definitely come back here!
This place is the best place we’ve ever lived in a European big city!
The apartment was extremely comfortable and tidy. It had a nice and warm atmosphere so you really felt “at home” in another city. The apartment was very spacious and functioning perfect. The hosts were very kind and responded very quickly. They helped with good advice on the neighborhood and places with street parking. When we got there, we had a welcoming present and some beautiful flowers. We will recommend the place to everyone and definitely return ourselves!

Super saubere große Wohnung für große Gruppen. Die Umgebung ist top. Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern lief zu jedem Zeitpunkt problemlos, top! Macht genau so weiter. Danke für die gute Zeit in Berlin.

Es ist eine sehr hübsche, komfortablere Wohnung im Berlin. Eine perfekte Wohnung für 8 Leute. Genug Platz für alle. Kann ich sehr gut empfehlen!
Heerlijk genoten en blij verrast over appartement!
Mooie moderne inrichting. Alles wat we nodig hadden lag in het appartement. Tv met mogelijkheid van streamen. Perfecte wifi-verbinding. Zelfs stond er een vaas net verse bloemen op tafel en wat lekkers. Aan de overkant van de locatie een park met een gezellige Biergarten. Op 5 minuten lopen ontbijtmogelijkheid met verse broodjes en taarten. Echt een aanrader. We waren allemaal (7 personen) blij verrast.
Iets minder was het lage plafond bij het bed op de entresol in de woonkamer. Voor kinderen perfect maar voor een 70-er sons wat benauwend.
