The whole setup is basically what happens when someone takes the concept of extended-stay hotels and doesn't mess it up – each unit has a proper kitchenette (not just a mini-fridge and hopes), decent workspace, and honestly, better WiFi than my apartment back home.

What really surprised me was how they nailed the details that most places completely ignore. The soundproofing is actually good – you know how hotel walls usually feel like paper? Not here. I stayed during a week when there was construction happening across the street, and I barely noticed it. The check-in process is refreshingly straightforward, no hovering staff trying to upsell you on breakfast packages or spa treatments. And here's something you won't find in the glossy brochures: the laundry setup is genuinely useful, not just two ancient machines in a basement somewhere. Karlshorst itself is this interesting mix – it's technically Lichtenberg district, which some guidebooks dismiss, but locals know it's one of those neighborhoods that's quietly become really livable. You've got the S-Bahn connection that gets you to Alexanderplatz in about 20 minutes (I timed it), plus there's this great Vietnamese place called Saigon Star just a few blocks away that does better pho than half the restaurants in Mitte.

The thing is, this isn't trying to be the Ritz – it's trying to be the place where you can actually live for a week or a month without feeling like you're camping in someone else's idea of luxury. The design is clean without being sterile, functional without being boring.
