Lux 11 Berlin-Mitte
About
Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect from Lux 11 when I first walked up to it – the name sounds a bit corporate, you know? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It's tucked right in the heart of Mitte, and I mean really in the thick of things, not just claiming to be central like some hotels do. You step outside and you're practically breathing the same air as all those gallery openings and late-night curry wurst stands that make this neighborhood what it is.
The building itself has this interesting industrial-meets-boutique vibe going on – sort of what you'd expect from Berlin, honestly. Inside, they've done something clever with the lighting that makes everything feel warm without being too cozy (if that makes sense). The rooms are what I'd call thoughtfully minimal – clean lines, good storage, and thank god, blackout curtains that actually work. I stayed there during one of those endless summer days when the sun doesn't set until like 9:30, and being able to sleep in was a game changer. The beds are solid too, none of that European-style rock-hard mattress situation that sometimes catches you off guard.
What really won me over though was how the staff seemed to actually know their neighborhood. When I asked about where to grab breakfast, the guy at the front desk didn't just hand me a generic tourist map – he sent me to this little bakery around the corner where the locals queue up for these incredible sourdough pretzels. And when I mentioned wanting to check out some smaller galleries, he knew exactly which streets to hit and which ones were just tourist traps. The 8.4 rating makes total sense when you experience that kind of genuine helpfulness. Sure, there were a few minor things – the elevator's a bit slow, and if you're on the street side you'll hear some late-night foot traffic (but honestly, that's just Berlin being Berlin). Overall though, it's the kind of place where you feel like you're staying somewhere real rather than in some sterile hotel bubble. If you're looking to actually experience Mitte rather than just pass through it, this spot gets it right.
Visitors often choose Berlin apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent German capital.

All very good. Reception/bar/cafe staff really friendly and helpful. Room was really nice and had everything needed. Restaurant, bar/cafe and room service available. Secure. A gem in the middle of Berlin. Would definitely stay again.
Excellent location, close to many restaurants and very well connected to public transit. Clean room, great design and comfortable. Some little extra touches, that show thoughtfulness: comfy slippers and hair dryer. Self-checking via the tablet was quite convenient.
It's a good location. Close to AlexAlexanderplatz and all transport. Nice big clean room. It's self check in. I didn't speak to any staff but I'm sure they were there to help if needed.
Very good location and very spacious room. Impeccably clean and great service.
Lovely staff, great location. Comfortable room.
The accommodation is modern, functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. It is in a great, very central location. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I appreciated the privacy and convenience provided by the self-check-in and self-check-out processes. Based on my stay, the value for money has been excellent and this is the main reason for my high rating.
They were helpful and even supported me in getting my headphones back to me! Shout out to Rama Alvarez Antognini
Super easy check in, perfect size studio, very conveniently located next to main subway and train station
The space was great, very central and extremely comfortable. The property was quiet and the check in and check out process was really straight forward. I left my wallet behind my accident when checking out and the staff have been great in helping to get this back to me.
Very nice design, good quality bed, towels and provided equipements. Easy checkin-out.
