Studio Apartment Niemetzstr 51
About
First Impressions
Walking up to Studio Apartment Niemetzstr 51, you'll notice it sits quietly on a tree-lined street in Berlin's Neukölln district — honestly, it's one of those spots that feels more residential than touristy, which I actually love. The building itself has that classic Berlin charm without being too fancy, and you get the sense you're staying somewhere locals might actually live. It's a three-star setup, so don't expect marble lobbies or doormen, but there's something refreshing about the straightforward approach here.
The Neighborhood Vibe
Neukölln has this reputation for being edgy and multicultural, and honestly? It lives up to it in the best way. You're about a 15-minute walk from the trendy Tempelhofer Feld — that massive former airport turned park where Berliners go to kite-surf and barbecue. The street itself is pretty quiet, but venture a few blocks and you'll hit Sonnenallee with its incredible Middle Eastern food scene. I mean, the döner alone makes staying in this area worth it, and there's this little Turkish bakery around the corner that opens ridiculously early if you're jet-lagged.
The Space Itself
The studio apartment is compact but thoughtfully laid out — you know how some small spaces feel cramped? This doesn't. There's a proper kitchenette with everything you need to make coffee or heat up those amazing pastries from the neighborhood, plus a decent-sized window that actually opens (which, trust me, matters in Berlin summers). The room doubles as living and sleeping space, but it works well for couples — actually, that makes sense given how many pairs seem to book this place. The bathroom's small but functional, and the shower has good pressure, which honestly surprised me.
Getting Around
Here's where location really matters — you're about a 10-minute walk to Hermannplatz U-Bahn station, which connects you to pretty much everywhere in Berlin. The U8 line gets you to Alexanderplatz in about 20 minutes, and if you're heading to Kreuzberg or Friedrichshain for nightlife, it's super easy. There's street parking if you've got a car, though honestly, you won't need it much. The area's walkable, and Berlin's public transport is reliable enough that I rarely felt stuck.
Why Guests Love It
What really works here is the balance — you get that authentic Berlin neighborhood feel without sacrificing convenience. Couples especially seem to appreciate having their own space rather than a hotel room, plus there's something nice about being able to grab groceries at the nearby Edeka and have breakfast at your own pace. The 7.2 rating feels about right; it's not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises. Recent guests keep mentioning the location, and after staying here, I get it — you feel like you're experiencing Berlin rather than just visiting it. Plus, for the price point, you're getting way more space and character than most chain hotels would offer in this city.

the location. At first, I thought first floor would be problem, but it was lovely and felt like fsmily
Locatie is redelijk dichtbij openbaar vervoer.
