Stylish maisonette, Prenzlauer Berg, 70m2
About
First Impressions
Walking into Stylish maisonette, Prenzlauer Berg, 70m2 feels like discovering a hidden gem tucked away in one of Berlin's most coveted neighborhoods. This three-star property sits in a charming rear building on Lychener Straße, and honestly, the moment you climb up to the 4th and 5th floors, you know you've found something special. The maisonette layout gives you this wonderful sense of having your own little Berlin hideaway — it's not just another hotel room, but more like staying in a local's carefully curated space.
The Prenzlauer Berg Experience
You know what I love about this location? It's got that perfect 10.0 location score for a reason. Prenzlauer Berg has this incredible energy where old East Berlin charm meets modern creativity, and you're right in the thick of it here. The tree-lined streets around Lychener Straße are filled with independent cafes, vintage shops, and those wonderful Sunday markets that locals actually go to — not just tourist traps. I mean, you can walk to Kollwitzplatz in about five minutes, and that's where the real neighborhood life happens.
The Space Itself
The 70 square meters are smartly laid out across two floors, giving you way more breathing room than typical Berlin accommodations. There's something really satisfying about having that separation between your sleeping area upstairs and the living space below. The design strikes this nice balance between modern functionality and that slightly industrial Berlin aesthetic — exposed elements mixed with comfortable furnishings that actually make sense for how people live. The kitchen area is well-equipped enough that you could easily grab fresh ingredients from the nearby markets and cook something simple.
Neighborhood Rhythms
What couples seem to really appreciate here (and I get why the rating reflects this) is how the area feels both intimate and alive. During the day, you've got this gentle buzz of local life — people heading to work on bikes, parents with strollers navigating the cobblestones, the smell of fresh bread from the bakeries. Evenings bring a different energy, with the nearby bars and restaurant terraces filling up with a mix of locals and visitors who've discovered this isn't just another tourist zone. The rear building location means you get the neighborhood authenticity without the street noise.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.2 rating doesn't come from fancy amenities or over-the-top service — it comes from the fact that this place just works really well for how people actually want to experience Berlin. You're staying in one of the city's most desirable areas, but in a way that feels genuine rather than packaged for tourists. The maisonette setup gives you privacy and space to spread out, while the Prenzlauer Berg location puts you within walking distance of everything that makes this part of Berlin special. It's the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because you've found your little corner of the city.

Guest reviews.
My husband and I don’t normally write reviews as there are usually sufficiently informative reviews already written about the places we have stayed. We were initially cautious when booking this maisonette as it was given only one rating of 10 and there was no additional information provided by the reviewer. We thought it was only right to provide travellers with more detail by describing our experience in the hope that it may eradicate any doubts potential guests may have when considering to book. - Our host Marion provided very helpful and detailed information on how to access the maisonette and was thankfully very flexible with checking in/out times due to our early/late flights. The maisonette is Marion’s home and she provided a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival and was very informative about the local area. - The location was excellent as it was close to transit lines for all the main attractions but was also peacefully tranquil. We were new to using public transport abroad and couldn’t believe how efficient it was. Literally trains and trams every 5 minutes. There are excellent grocery stores, restaurants, cafes and parks within walking distance and the Prater Biergarten is a hidden gem. If you are a fan of Indian cuisine, our favourite restaurant was Vedi’s. - The maisonette was elegantly styled, filled with light and much more spacious than expected. It was spotlessly clean with the added bonus of having a washing machine, dishwasher and a very comfortable king size bed. The kitchen offered all the convenience of home and the bathroom has a full size tub with a good high pressure shower. There was absolutely no sound from any neighbours on either side or below the maisonette. Our favourite part was the balcony. Being on the 4th floor meant that we were just above the tree tops of the trees in the playground which the balcony looks upon.
