About

Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect from Tempelhoferfeld when I first pulled up to Friedrich-Wilhelm-Straße – it's one of those quiet residential streets in Tempelhof-Schöneberg that you'd probably walk right past without thinking twice. But that's actually part of what makes this place work so well. You're in a proper Berlin neighborhood here, not some touristy bubble, which means you'll hear actual German conversations at the corner bakery and see locals walking their dogs instead of groups with matching backpacks.

The hotel itself feels like someone took a lot of care with the details without going overboard about it. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no lengthy spiel about amenities I'll never use – and the staff seemed to actually know the area when I asked about good dinner spots nearby. The rooms have that clean, unfussy vibe that suggests they spent money on decent mattresses and proper blackout curtains rather than fancy lobby sculptures. I mean, the bathroom wasn't huge, but everything worked properly and the water pressure was solid, which honestly matters more than marble countertops when you're dealing with jet lag. What really surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, considering you're still well-connected to the rest of the city. The S-Bahn connections from here are actually pretty great – you can get to Mitte in about 20 minutes, and Kreuzberg's even closer if that's more your scene.

The neighborhood thing is key though, because this isn't one of those areas where every other storefront is a souvenir shop. There's a proper German supermarket around the corner (handy for grabbing actual food), and I stumbled across this solid Turkish place just a few blocks down that the hotel folks recommended. You know what's weird? I kept expecting to feel disconnected from the "real" Berlin staying out here, but it was kind of the opposite – you get a better sense of how the city actually functions when you're not constantly surrounded by other travelers. The whole Tempelhof area has this lived-in quality that I really appreciated, especially after spending time in some of the more obvious hotel districts. Plus, if you're the type who likes to run or just walk around, the old Tempelhof airport grounds are close enough to become part of your routine – it's this massive open space that locals use for everything from kite-flying to barbecues, and it feels like stumbling onto Berlin's best-kept secret even though it's not really secret at all. Four stars feels about right for this place, maybe even conservative – it's not trying to be the fanciest option in the city, but everything they do, they do well.

Early hotels booking in Berlin is essential during major events like the Berlinale Film Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city's renowned nightlife and cultural scene.

We loved this apartment. It had everything we needed

Nice apartment in a residential part of Berlin. Clean and comfortable. Very responsive host. Restaurants and supermarkets close by as well as buses and underground.

What could be improved: We didn’t like the app locking system. We could get into the apartment with it but not the building which was frustrating. We ended up getting a set of keys which we were thankful for.

Wonderful apartment in a lovely neighborhood with parks, cafes, shopping and transit.

Bright and clean with good appliances. Very comfortable sofa’s. Quiet setting. Loved the big tub. Great having a washer/dryer. Well stocked kitchen with utensils. The location was perfect for me, near family members that live in Tempelhof. Robin was very helpful and responsive.

What could be improved: No desk for working. The counter chairs are very hard to sit on.

An excellent place to stay for all touristy stuff.

It was clean and very well appointed. The washing machine was a nice bonus. Also having a bath tub was very nice. The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary utensils and appliances. The location was very good for all tourist activities.

What could be improved: There were no real short comings, but more coats hangers would have been nice. Also there were no face clothes so we bought one.

Superb

Beautiful apartment, great location, nice residency area....it was my second time here and it is always a good experience to stay at Robin´s place.

What could be improved: To enter the apartment was a bit complicated because the code was not working, but at the end I finally received the keys of the flat. The host is not very flexible with the check out but he is kind and available at any time.
