The Mierendorf Hinterhaus, 2 bed rooms up to 4 people
About
First Impressions
Walking up to The Mierendorf Hinterhaus, 2 bed rooms up to 4 people, you immediately get that "hidden gem" feeling — it's tucked away on a quiet residential street in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, but you can sense you're somewhere special. The building has that classic Berlin charm without being stuffy about it, and honestly, the neighborhood feels refreshingly authentic compared to some of the touristy areas. I mean, this is where actual Berliners live and work, which gives the whole experience a different energy.
The Neighborhood Experience
Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf is one of those districts that perfectly balances residential calm with urban convenience — you're close enough to everything but far enough from the chaos. The couples who stay here clearly get it (they rate the location 8.8), and I can see why. You've got the Spree River nearby for morning walks, plus you're well-connected to central Berlin without dealing with the noise and crowds every single day. The local cafes and shops along the surrounding streets feel genuinely neighborhood-focused rather than tourist-trap oriented, which is actually pretty refreshing.
The Space Itself
What struck me about this three-star property is how thoughtfully it's set up for small groups or families. The two-bedroom layout works really well for up to four people — you're not cramped, but you're also not rattling around in some oversized space. The "Hinterhaus" part of the name refers to the rear building setup, which means you get more privacy and quiet than you'd expect in Berlin. The rooms feel properly lived-in rather than hotel-sterile, and there's enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days.
What Makes It Work
The 8.6 overall rating isn't an accident — this place delivers on the basics without trying to be something it's not. You get reliable wifi, comfortable beds, and a kitchen setup that's actually functional (not just decorative). The location rating of 8.7 from recent guests tells you everything about how well-positioned this is for exploring Berlin while having a proper base to return to. It's the kind of place where you can grab groceries from the local market and cook breakfast, then head out for the day knowing you've got a peaceful spot to come back to.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
What really sets this apart is the combination of space, location, and that residential feel that's hard to find in traditional hotels. You're staying in a real Berlin neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble, but you're not sacrificing convenience or comfort to get that authenticity. The fact that couples particularly love it speaks to how relaxing and well-positioned it is — you can explore the city during the day and actually unwind in the evening. For families or small groups, having two proper bedrooms instead of cramming everyone into one hotel room makes a huge difference in how the whole trip feels.
Apartments in Berlin provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned German culinary traditions.

Well-kept, clean apartment close to Berlin center.
The appartement was near to a metro station and from there we could go to the center easily (about 30 minutes).
The apartment was clean with very good fascilities. It is centrally located in Charlottenburg, 5 minutes walk to the palace, bus stop just outside the door and bus 109 just 5 minutes walk that litterally takes you to the center. Caroline our host manager was very accommodating and facilitated our stay. We would book this place in a heartbeat. Highly recomended.
Very good correspondence before arrival, with clear instructions. Caroline met us at the apartment and went over everything, she was extremely helpful and very welcoming. The apartment is very well equipped and very comfortable for a city break. It is close to underground services so easy to get around the city. Thank you Caroline
- Good value for money
Great location, close to U and S-Bahn, comfortable beds, hot water, equipped kitchen, clean.
Clean spacious and comfortable Simply and stylishly furnished Friendly helpful welcome from Ekaterina Close to restaurants and transport links
A very nicely renovated and modernised place with all the contemporary conveniences- two toilets, dishwasher, microwave and cooking with pots and pans so it was convenient to cook in, from toast to pasta or a pot roast. Nice quiet street and neighbourhood. The rooms were super quiet as they were off the street. Having the two bedrooms at separate ends was also good privacy. There’s a very good washer and dryer to refresh clothing for longer stays. The unit was a short walk to Rewe supermarket, with a few local bars and restaurants on the way, plus an easy location for Uber and taxi to access. We stayed for a convention at Messe Berlin and this was about 12mins Uber or 40 min easy and interesting walk through ast the palace and cobblestone streets.
The apartment was a great size for our few days stay, was close to restaurants, supermarket and play grounds. Staff were helpful and only a call away. We were greeted by Simon upon arrival who was waiting at the apartment for us. Would highly recommend. Great little kitchen with everything you could need.
Sam met us on site and everything went very smoothly. The property was great for our needs. Everything was very clean and modern and the beds were very comfortable.
