The Mierendorf III, group & family friendly, 2 BR, 1,5 bath rooms
About
Look, I'll be honest – when I first walked up to The Mierendorf III on Mierendorffstraße, I wasn't expecting much from the exterior. It's one of those classic Berlin apartment buildings that doesn't scream "hey, I'm a hotel!" But that's actually part of its charm, you know? You're staying in a real neighborhood where locals are walking their dogs and heading to the späti (that's corner shop for non-Berliners) rather than some touristy bubble. The two-bedroom setup is genuinely spacious – I mean, you can actually spread out here, which is rare in Berlin. The 1.5 baths thing might sound weird, but trust me, when you're traveling with kids or sharing with friends, that extra half bath is clutch.
What really won me over was how the place just... works. The kitchen isn't just for show – you can actually cook a proper meal, and there's enough counter space that you won't be playing Tetris with your groceries. The living area has this lived-in feel without being shabby, if that makes sense. My kids immediately claimed the couch for movie nights, and honestly, after long days exploring the city, it was nice to have somewhere that felt like home base. The location is pretty brilliant too – you're in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, which sounds fancy but it's really just a solid residential area. The U-Bahn is close enough that you're not schlepping luggage forever, but far enough that you won't hear trains rattling by at 6 AM. There's a decent bakery about two blocks down (the pretzel situation there is serious), and if you need groceries, there's a proper supermarket within walking distance.
Here's what I wish someone had told me beforehand – the building is older, so the walls have character, which is code for "you might hear your neighbors occasionally." It's not terrible, just... Berlin apartment life, you know? Also, parking can be a bit of a hunt if you're driving, but honestly, you probably don't need a car anyway. The whole area connects really well to central Berlin, and you'll save yourself the headache of navigating those narrow streets. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it's not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises. Clean, comfortable, practical, and in a spot where you can pretend you're a local for a week. I mean, my daughter still talks about the morning routine we developed – pastries from the bakery, coffee at home, then heading out to conquer whatever museum or park was on the agenda. That's the kind of trip this place sets you up for.

A great value for money
- Good value for money
- Car parking is almost impossible in the area (you cannot find empty places)
Very good and we would stay again.
Clean spacious and comfortable Simply and stylishly furnished Friendly helpful welcome from Ekaterina Close to restaurants and transport links
It would have been nice to have a small sofa to sit on. And instructions for the coffee maker! Would have also appreciated some extra quilts/blankets as the weather was quite chilly at times
We enjoyed our stay very much!
Sam met us on site and everything went very smoothly. The property was great for our needs. Everything was very clean and modern and the beds were very comfortable.
Nice location and comfortable stay
The apartment is spacious, very good location, near the park and all the facilities (cafes, some bars, grocery shops, metro) are close. Well equipped kitchen. There is a desk, so you can work. The bedrooms are far from each other and 2 bathrooms make it comfortable for 2 people. Washer and dryer is convenient for longer stays.
It’s a bit too noisy, as it’s on 1st floor and all windows facing the yard where rubbish bins are, so whenever people take out the trash you hear the door and containers being slammed. I could also hear very well the neighbors walking upstairs. It’s also a bit dark due to lack of natural light, I was working for a few days so needed to use additional lights. Some furniture is old and a bit broken and it was not too clean, I had to vacuum a few days after my check in and the floors were not mopped as white socks turned black in the middle of the day. The mattress in the bigger bedroom could be better as well.
Good
Great location, lots of things to do and see
Never got an answer from the host when contacted
citytrip to Berlin for a tattoo
The appartement was near to a metro station and from there we could go to the center easily (about 30 minutes).
Good two bedroomed well equipped modern flat
I liked the location. While not in the historical centre it is a good pleasant area with plenty of local restaurants. Very short walk to the beautiful Charlottenburg Palace and public transport is excellent and easy to use in Berlin. The flat itself has two good sized bedrooms and appears equipped to a very high standard indeed. Everything looks brand new in the flat ! We were met by someone at the flat who gave us the key. Our flight was an hour late and I liked the fact we were able to communicate by Whatsapp (he sent me a text introducing himself earlier in the day )- this made it easier for him but also gave me a lot of confidence as we were eventually arriving rather late in the evening.
There were a few minor issues which I think should be easy to rectify. For reasons I did not fully understand there was only a camp bed in one bedroom while the other was extremely comfortable. The lighting in both bedrooms was dim such that it was difficult to read. There are two very modern and sophisticated TVs in the flat. When I tried to watch the news I found them too sophisticated (for me) and I think other visitors would benefit from such written instructions . The shutter in the main bedroom seemed to be stuck in the down position and I could not open same ? The large window behind the shutter did not seem to close properly. Lastly we had no hot water one morning due to maintenance - perhaps visitors could be warned of such an upcoming event. This is the best flat I have stayed in for quite some time and If these issues were rectified I would be scoring the flat as near to 10
Would book again
Well-kept, clean apartment close to Berlin center.
A gem in an amazing location
The apartment was clean with very good fascilities. It is centrally located in Charlottenburg, 5 minutes walk to the palace, bus stop just outside the door and bus 109 just 5 minutes walk that litterally takes you to the center. Caroline our host manager was very accommodating and facilitated our stay. We would book this place in a heartbeat. Highly recomended.
Perfect
Very good correspondence before arrival, with clear instructions. Caroline met us at the apartment and went over everything, she was extremely helpful and very welcoming. The apartment is very well equipped and very comfortable for a city break. It is close to underground services so easy to get around the city. Thank you Caroline
Nothing, the apartment was perfect for what we, a party of 4 adults, needed.
