It's actually spacious (90 square meters feels massive after most European city stays), and the industrial-chic vibe works without feeling like they're trying too hard. Those high ceilings and big windows facing the courtyard? They make the whole place feel airy, even on those gray Berlin mornings.

What really sold me though was the location – I mean, you're literally five minutes from Hauptbahnhof, which sounds touristy but is actually brilliant. You can catch trains anywhere in Europe from there, sure, but more importantly, you're right in the thick of Mitte without the insane crowds around Alexanderplatz. I'd walk to that little café on the corner of Chausseestraße every morning (great coffee, terrible Wi-Fi), then wander over to the galleries near Torstraße. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of locals going about their business and just enough interesting stuff that you stumble onto something new each day. Honestly, the area gets a bit quiet after 10 PM, which was perfect for me but might disappoint if you're looking for all-night party vibes.

The apartment itself is set up like someone actually lives there – well, like someone with really good taste lives there. The kitchen has proper equipment (not those tiny European refrigerators that fit three beers), both bedrooms are genuine bedrooms with real closets, and the workspace area is legit if you need to get some work done. Check-in was smooth through some app system, though I'll admit I panicked for about ten minutes when I couldn't figure out the building entrance code. Pro tip: it's the same as your door code, which makes sense once you know it. Street parking is hit or miss around there, but the U-Bahn connections are so good you honestly don't need a car. The S-Bahn rumbles by occasionally – not loud enough to wake you up, but you'll notice it the first night. After that, it just becomes part of the city soundtrack. With that 8.9 rating, I expected it to be good, but this place actually exceeded expectations in those small ways that matter when you're staying somewhere for more than a night or two.
