Alt-Berliner Eckkneipe – “Feuchte Ecke”
About
Okay, so first things first – yes, "Feuchte Ecke" literally means "wet corner" in German, and honestly, that had me slightly worried when I first booked this place. But you know what? Sometimes the best spots have the quirkiest names, and this converted corner pub in Pankow absolutely nails that vibe. I mean, you're staying in what used to be an authentic Berlin Eckkneipe (corner bar), and they've somehow managed to keep all that character while making it genuinely comfortable.
The location is actually brilliant if you want to experience Berlin like locals do – Gustav-Adolf-Straße isn't some touristy boulevard, it's proper residential Pankow where you'll hear more German than English on the street. There's this fantastic Vietnamese place literally two doors down (the pho is incredible), and the S-Bahn connection at Pankow station gets you to Mitte in about 20 minutes. What really got me though was how they've preserved the old pub atmosphere – the original wooden bar is still there, dark and worn smooth from decades of elbows, and they actually serve drinks there in the evenings. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for Berlin standards, and I loved the mix of industrial touches with these unexpectedly cozy elements like proper thick curtains and reading lights that actually work.
Here's the thing that really sets it apart – the staff genuinely seems to enjoy working there, which you can't fake. Check-in was relaxed (they remembered I'd mentioned arriving late), and when I asked about good breakfast spots, the guy behind the desk didn't just point me to some generic café but told me about this tiny bakery on Florastraße where the woman makes these incredible Schrippen every morning. Small details like that matter when you're trying to get under a city's skin rather than just ticking off monuments. The building can be a bit creaky at night – it's old, what do you expect – but it's not disruptive, more like staying in a friend's apartment. Parking is typical Berlin street parking (good luck), but honestly, you won't need a car from here anyway. The 9.5 rating isn't some fluke – this place gets repeat visitors who appreciate that it's more about authentic experience than polished perfection.

Fantastic place to stay - full of character.
The apartment was clean, really well appointed and we loved the fact that the original bar was still in place.
The front bedroom was quite noisy at night but it wasn't too much of a problem for us.
A clean nice stay in Berlin. I recommend to everyone visiting Berlin
A very nice, clean stay in berlin. The property was very clean and everything that one would need in an apartment was available. The area was very quiet. I liked the German kneipe atmosphere that this property had.
Superb
Lovely spacious appartement, very well equipped. Friendly host, very responsive. Delicious hamburgers just across the street. Would definitely recommend.

Exceptional
Staying in the old pub, makes the difference. Place worth visiting.
Exceptional
There is a tram stop nearby, so you can get to Museum Island in about 30 minutes. We stayed for 8 days and it was nice to be able to conveniently use the kitchen facilities. Of course, the supermarket is also located nearby. This is a very great accommodation.
I couldn't find a good bar nearby to have a beer. However, there is a nice bar inside the accommodation.
Exceptional
Perfect apartment with character, lots of space, original and well maintained. We were with kids, they loved it. Close to trams so you can be in center in 30 minutes.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The apartment was spacious clean and very well equipped. I would happily book again.
The spaciousness. The tranquility inside. The cleanliness The proximity to frequent buses and trams.
The only thing was that being on the ground floor it would have been good to have opaque film over the street facing windows in order to open the curtains to let in the light…. It was a minor point as I was out most of the days.
Spacious and comfortable!
Very spacious and comfortable apartment, fully equipped. Located in quiet and safe district, well connected with the city center (by tam or public bike)
Superb
Clean, spacious, great!
Amazing stay in Berlin
The property has huge space compared to other options in Berlin. Also being on the ground floor and on the street corner, its very convenient. Yet it is very quiet with no outside traffic noise.Lutz was always available for anything we needed. The open plan large living room with the open kitchen is great for spending time together in the evenings. We will return for sure.
Nothing really...it was perfect
