Apartment Berlin Am Friedrichshain
About
Look, I'll be honest with you – when I first heard "Apartment Berlin Am Friedrichshain," I wasn't expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the spots that don't try too hard end up surprising you the most. This little apartment hotel sits right in Friedrichshain, which honestly is one of those neighborhoods that locals love but tourists are just starting to figure out. You're basically in old East Berlin here, and I mean that in the best possible way – there's this authentic, slightly gritty energy that you just don't get in the more polished parts of the city.
The thing about staying here is that you're actually living like a Berliner for a few days, not just visiting. The apartments themselves are pretty straightforward – clean, functional, with that distinctive European efficiency where everything has its place. Don't expect luxury linens or fancy toiletries, but honestly, who cares when you can walk five minutes and grab the best döner you've ever had? The kitchenettes are actually useful (rare for hotel apartments, trust me), and after a day of wandering around the East Side Gallery or getting lost in the Sunday flea markets at Boxhagener Platz, it's nice to come back and make yourself a proper coffee instead of hunting for an overpriced café. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after the evening rush, which surprised me – I was expecting more late-night chaos given all the bars and clubs nearby.
What really sold me on this place, though, is how connected you feel to the real Berlin. You'll wake up to the sound of trams rattling by (the M10 line is your friend – takes you straight into Mitte), and there's something oddly comforting about that urban soundtrack. The staff seems to actually know the area well, not just the tourist highlights, and they'll point you toward spots like Zur Wilden Renate or the hidden courtyards along Revaler Straße that you'd never find in a guidebook. Sure, it's not going to win any design awards, and the 7.9 rating reflects exactly what it is – a solid, no-nonsense place to crash while you explore one of Berlin's most interesting districts. But sometimes that's exactly what you need, especially when you're paying Berlin apartment prices instead of fancy hotel rates and getting way more space to spread out.

Interesting layout, great view, clean, beautiful park right on the doorstep. In addition, there's a church right in front of the building, and the bells ring every day at 8 a.m. (helps to get up early)
Location is perfect!
The location is great, with the bus stop right in front. The living room and bedroom are large and comfortable, with great views. Comfortable bed and sofa bed. Kitchen is really nice, with lots of natural light and a nice breakfast nook.
The view from the balcony was nice!

The property location was good, with easy acces to trams The adjacent park was very nice Supermarlet and restaurants are close by
Easy to find and access. Communication with host was fast and efficient. Nice view and good amenities (salt was added bonus when preparing some food). No noise, grocery stores, bakery and park just nearby.
The location was perfect. It was close to tram and bus stations. The park across the street was great with a lake, many many trees and lots of kids playground. It took only 7 minutes leaving the flat and reaching to ALDI, the super market. Alexanderplatz was 3 stations away, we really enjoyed the tram trips. The flat was equipped with enough and qualified kitchen ware. Netflix is a also a plus. The window black-outs were robust and good working. The bathroom was large enough. We liked the flat it was okay for a family stay.
