Apartmenthouse Berlin – Am Görlitzer Park
About
Honestly, when I first walked up to the Apartmenthouse Berlin on Glogauer Straße, I wasn't quite sure what to expect – the building has that classic Berlin mix of industrial charm and lived-in character that you see all over Kreuzberg. But you know what? That's exactly what makes this place work so well. It's right there at the edge of Görlitzer Park, which means you get actual green space (pretty rare in this part of the city), but you're also smack in the middle of one of Berlin's most vibrant neighborhoods. I mean, step outside and you're immediately surrounded by the kind of cafés and bars that locals actually go to, not just tourist traps.
The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – and I say surprising because Berlin accommodation can be, well, let's just say "cozy" is often a generous description. These units actually feel like someone's well-appointed home rather than a sterile hotel room. The kitchens are properly equipped too, which is clutch if you want to grab groceries from the Turkish market down the street or cook up some of those amazing vegetables from the weekend farmers market in the park. The 4-star rating feels about right – it's not luxury, but everything works well and there's a certain understated style to the furnishings. One thing I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, considering you're in Kreuzberg. Sure, you'll hear some street life (it's Berlin, after all), but the windows do a decent job of keeping the sound manageable.
What really sold me on this place, though, is the location's sweet spot between accessibility and authenticity. You've got the U1 literally a few minutes walk away at Görlitzer Bahnhof, so getting to Mitte or anywhere else is dead simple. But unlike staying in the touristy parts of Kreuzberg closer to Checkpoint Charlie, here you're in a neighborhood that still feels genuinely lived-in. The park itself is... well, it's got character (if you know Berlin, you know what I mean), but during the day it's actually lovely for a morning coffee or evening beer. And honestly, being able to walk to Zur Letzten Instanz or grab late-night döner from any of the incredible spots along Skalitzer Straße – that's the kind of convenience that makes a trip. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me; it's not perfect, and the neighborhood isn't for everyone, but if you want to experience Berlin like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through, this apartmenthouse gets it right.

Ok
Clean, very friendly recepción staff
Check in was difficult, I did not receive the instructions to access after reception closes, had to call the hotline number they provide several times, more than 10 minutes waiting time each call, until I was finally able to get in The street rooms especially lower floors are very noisy, spent 3 nights waking up several times a night due to the noise outside (mainly people discussing or fighting)
The apartment was ok for our stay.
We liked the size of the property
The shower doors didn’t close properly and consequently the bathroom flooded if you weren’t very careful. The sink in the kitchen was blocked and so the water drained very slowly. It was also a bit further out if the centre than we expected.
Superb
Well layed out apartment everything you needed good powerfull shower comfy beds
Bit of a walk to the rail station but that's not the fault of the apartment owners
Superb
Really lovely helpful staff, and the apartment we had was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed, and even a washing machine. There is a bus stop at the end of the rd which gets you into the city, and a station about 15 mins walk. You can also walk easily to lots of lovely bars and restaurants. Lots of grocery shops too. And a great bar with a beer garden just round the corner too!
I read the reviews on here about the area being a bit sketchy and that made me a little unsure at first. But it's actually a really interesting and safe area. A mix of people, including a few people who are down on their luck and hipster cool cats! And some rough sleepers ect but to be honest no more than most other big cities.
Definitely coming back
Great experience here! Spacious, clean, and beds were very comfy! Definitely coming back again
Amazing, great staff warm and welcoming.
Lovely staff, area was nice. Staff kept hold of my bags due to my flight being late. Gave me opportunity to walk around without moving all my bags.
