Apartments City Room Berlin
About
So here's the thing about Apartments City Room Berlin – it's one of those places that completely surprised me in the best way possible. I mean, when you see "3-star" you're not exactly expecting miracles, but honestly? This place punches way above its weight class, and that 8.7 rating makes total sense once you've actually stayed there.
The whole setup is basically apartment-style rooms, which – and I cannot stress this enough – is such a game changer when you're in Berlin for more than just a quick weekend. You get your own little kitchen area, which means you can actually grab some of those incredible German breads from the local bakeries and not feel guilty about eating hotel breakfast every single day. The rooms themselves have this clean, minimalist vibe that feels very Berlin without trying too hard, you know? Nothing fancy, but everything works exactly like it should. The Wi-Fi is solid (I was working remotely for part of my stay), and the beds are actually comfortable – not that weird European firm-as-a-rock situation you sometimes get.
What really got me though was how genuinely helpful the staff were. Check-in was smooth, and when I had questions about getting around the city, they gave me real advice – not just the tourist trap recommendations. They pointed me toward some local spots that I never would have found otherwise. The location itself is really well-connected to public transport, which in Berlin means you can basically get anywhere without thinking twice about it. I found myself walking to different neighborhoods just because everything felt so accessible. You're close enough to the action but far enough away that you're not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM – honestly, that balance is harder to find than you'd think. The area has this lived-in feel with actual Berliners going about their daily lives, local cafés that aren't overpriced, and grocery stores where you can stock up your little apartment kitchen.
The only minor thing I'd mention is that the building itself is pretty straightforward – don't expect some grand lobby or anything like that. But you know what? That's kind of refreshing. You're not paying for marble floors and chandeliers; you're paying for a really solid place to stay that lets you experience Berlin like you actually live there for a bit. Plus, the value is honestly incredible for what you get. I've stayed in plenty of "fancier" places that cost twice as much and delivered half the experience. If you're the type of traveler who wants to explore the city rather than hang out in your hotel room all day, this place just makes sense.

Free laundry service was unexpected but welcome! Great hosts, thank you.
Specious and clean
We loved the excellent location, with plenty of public transport options very close to the apartment. At the same time, it was incredibly quiet inside, as the windows face the courtyard and provide excellent sound insulation. The reception was very warm, even though we arrived relatively late. The woman who greeted us (I’m so sorry, I forget names!) was kind, wonderful, and exceptionally pleasant. The beds were comfortable, and all the necessary appliances were available. A special shoutout and heartfelt thanks for the slippers and umbrella provided by the hosts—they were incredibly thoughtful and useful! Also, a rare but much-appreciated feature in rental apartments: two sets of keys! For once, we didn’t have to figure out how to hand keys off to each other.
We had a very good stay. The apartment had everything we needed.
Good sized apartment with everything needed for a short stay. Well placed location with train station 5 minute walk away and a good selection of shops and bars nearby. The main Alexanderplatz can be walked to in 40 mins
Great location, prompt reply from owners, close to transportation n many restaurants, safe
Super clean! Very friendly staff! Very peaceful and quiet although so close to both S bahn, U bahn and tram. Lovely playground in courtyard. Lots of kitchen equipment, many practical extras like the drying rack. Plenty of hand soap, kitchen dish liquid. Love there being Plenty of toilet paper, always a good feeling to have more than enough, because we hate having to buy something so boring as toilet paper when on an exciting journey🤣
The apartment was very well equipped, good location close to supermarket and underground , clean and very welcoming, we were met on arrival and given our keys and everything that we needed to know , to make our stay pleasant was explained to us . Nothing was to much trouble , would definitely recommend.
Great apartment. Great location. Very helpful host.
Cleanliness, location & facilities. It was in the midst of hassle and bustle but so quiet.
