Arbio I Design Studio near Charlottenburg Palace
About
Look, I'll be honest with you – when I first heard "design studio" in the name, I was expecting something pretentious and uncomfortable. But Arbio I is actually refreshing in its simplicity. It's tucked away in one of those quiet Charlottenburg side streets where you can hear birds in the morning instead of constant traffic, which is honestly a miracle in Berlin. The whole vibe is more "curated apartment" than traditional hotel, and I mean that in the best way possible.
The location is what really makes this place work. You're maybe a ten-minute walk from Charlottenburg Palace – and I mean an actual leisurely stroll, not one of those "walking distance" lies hotels tell you. The neighborhood has that lived-in Berlin feel where locals actually go about their business instead of everything being geared toward tourists. There's a solid bakery around the corner (grab the pretzel rolls, trust me), and you're close enough to the S-Bahn that getting into Mitte or Kreuzberg doesn't feel like an expedition. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – the street doesn't have bars or late-night spots, so you can actually sleep with the windows open during summer.
The rooms themselves are where that "design studio" concept shows up, but in a good way. Everything feels intentional without being sterile – you know how some boutique places try so hard to be Instagram-worthy that you're afraid to touch anything? This isn't that. The furniture is simple but well-made, there's decent storage space (always a win), and the lighting actually works for reading in bed. Honestly, the shower pressure was better than I expected for a 3-star place, though the bathroom is on the smaller side. Check-in was straightforward – no drama, just friendly staff who seemed to actually know the neighborhood when I asked about dinner recommendations. The 7.3 rating feels about right; it's not luxury, but it does what it promises without any nasty surprises. If you're looking for a place that feels more like staying in a friend's well-appointed apartment than a hotel room, and you want to experience Berlin from a genuine residential area rather than the touristy center, this works really well.

Good location, very well connected with a lot of nice restaurants, cafes, bars, and supermarkets walking distance away. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need. There was a garden with a table and chairs which was great for enjoying breakfast. The bathroom is very nice, and the building is very quiet at night.
Accommodation very well located for a city trip, very close to a major metro line. The neighborhood is quite quiet while still being near shops.
comfortable, gut equipped, clean* *dishes not ideal clean
Location was good, close to public transport and lots of food options. The host was informative and responsive and the kitchen was well stocked.
I was in Berlin for a conference and made the wise decision of staying close to the venue. It was a very good decision for a number of reasons such as transportation strike that brought public transport to a halt. However, it was also a very good decision because this flat is very cosy and has all the amenities that you'll need when on a short trip in Berlin. It is also very close to metro stations such as Bismarckstrasse and Deutsche Oper. The flat itself is spacious enough and the toilet is nicely done, especially the shower. Special thanks to the host for being receptive and clear with communication. Will definitely consider staying here again should opportunity present itself.
Had everything we needed and two entry points
Relaxed and quite place. Everything was clean and at hand. Yael was very helpful and kind. I felt welcome. Location very good. Loved the terrass as well.
