B&B HOTEL Berlin-Potsdamer Platz
About
You know what caught me off guard about B&B HOTEL Berlin-Potsdamer Platz? It's actually tucked away on a quieter stretch of Potsdamer Straße, which honestly surprised me given the name. I mean, you're still right in the thick of Mitte – literally a five-minute walk to the Sony Center and all that tourist chaos – but the hotel itself sits on this more residential-feeling block that doesn't have that overwhelming tourist trap vibe. The building looks pretty standard from the outside, sort of that modern European budget hotel aesthetic, but once you're inside it's got this clean, no-nonsense setup that just works.
The rooms are what you'd expect from a solid 3-star place – nothing fancy, but they've nailed the basics. The beds are actually comfortable (I'm picky about this), and the shower pressure is decent, which... let's be honest, isn't always a given in Berlin hotels. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you're so close to everything. The windows do a good job of blocking out street noise, and since it's not directly on the main Potsdamer Platz circus, you don't get those late-night party crowds stumbling past. The WiFi worked fine throughout the building – I could even get a decent signal in the elevator, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I've stayed.
Location-wise, this is where the hotel really shines without trying too hard. You're basically equidistant from Anhalter Bahnhof and Potsdamer Platz U-Bahn stations, so getting around is super straightforward. But here's what the booking sites don't tell you – there's this great little Turkish place called Zur Letzten Instanz just around the corner that locals actually go to, and you're close enough to walk to Kreuzberg if you want to escape the touristy stuff for an evening. The 7.8 rating makes total sense to me because it's one of those places that doesn't promise the moon but delivers exactly what it says it will. The staff at check-in were efficient and friendly enough, spoke good English, and didn't try to upsell me on anything ridiculous. If you're looking for Instagram-worthy luxury, this isn't your spot, but if you want a clean, reliable base camp for exploring Berlin without paying Potsdamer Platz premium prices, it's honestly a smart choice. Plus, there's something to be said for staying somewhere that feels more like where actual Berliners might put up visiting relatives rather than another cookie-cutter tourist hotel.

Superb
Very clean hotel, very helpful staff. Not much going on around the hotel but plenty of transport solutions on the doorstep. Thank you!
All you need for a city break
Good size, clean room, not far from all the attractions.
Breakfast wasn't worth the money but there is a really good and cheap place opposite the hotel on the corner
Good
Good balance value and location
Too basic
Not a bad option / price in Berlin
What you would expect from a B&B hotel
Would like a kettle in the room. But if a trek in to town
A very comfortable stay in a budget hotel a short walk from the city centre
The hotel was immaculately clean. The bed was very comfortable
I would have liked a kettle in the room
All and all, we had such a lovely stay! Staff were friendly and the room served us well!
The location was perfect! Close to transportation and good facilities in the room.
Wish there was a mini fridge.
Good basis for a city trip.
parking space, easy check-in, friendly staff, daily cleaning, very comfortable mattress (firmer but not stiff), good breakfast, cafés and restaurants (Croatian was great) close by. Note: about 10-12 min walking to Potsdamer Platz.
rather small room, cobwebs at the ceiling, only one (small, slow) elevator, regular ambulances passing by as there's an emergency room around the corner. no tea making facilities and very basic amenities.
Very good
The location was great. Good value for it’s price.
