Berlin mednow 1
About
Look, I'll be honest – when I first saw the address on Karl-Marx-Allee, I wasn't sure what to expect. You hear "East Berlin" and "Soviet-era boulevard" and your mind goes to gray concrete blocks, right? But here's the thing about Berlin mednow 1: it's actually tucked into one of those beautifully restored Stalinist buildings that line this historic stretch, and the whole experience feels like you're living in a piece of Berlin's layered history rather than just observing it.
The apartment-style setup (you're literally staying in Whg 0201 – apartment 0201) gives you this authentic residential vibe that most hotels can't touch. I mean, you're not just visiting Mitte, you're temporarily living there like a local. And honestly? The location is pretty brilliant once you realize what you've got around you. Karl-Marx-Allee itself is this fascinating mix of socialist architecture and modern Berlin energy – there's something almost cinematic about walking down those wide sidewalks in the morning. You're maybe ten minutes from Alexanderplatz on foot, but far enough away that you're not dealing with the tourist chaos every time you step outside. The TV Tower is right there when you want that classic Berlin photo, but you can also just wander down to Warschauer Straße when you want to dive into the nightlife scene.
What really got me was how the place manages to feel both spacious and cozy – you know how some apartments can feel sterile? This doesn't have that problem. The 4-star rating feels about right; it's comfortable and well-maintained without being stuffy or overly polished. And that 8.7 rating makes sense once you settle in. The building itself has this solid, substantial feel (those old East German buildings were built to last), so you're not hearing every footstep from upstairs. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of Mitte – I'd honestly recommend just using the excellent public transport instead. The U-Bahn connections from here are actually fantastic; you can get pretty much anywhere in the city without much hassle.
You know what I appreciated most? The way this place lets you experience Berlin like you actually live here, rather than just passing through. You're grocery shopping at the same places as your neighbors, grabbing coffee from the corner spot, maybe stopping by one of those little späti convenience stores for a late-night beer. It's the kind of stay where you start to understand the rhythm of the neighborhood – when the morning commute happens, where people hang out in the evenings, how the light hits those massive buildings at different times of day. If you want that authentic Berlin experience without sacrificing comfort, this spot really delivers on both fronts.
Early hotels booking in Berlin is essential during major events like the Berlinale Film Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city's renowned nightlife and cultural scene.

Superb
Fantastic location, close to city centre. Various facilities within the property to utilise. Tidy and clean.
Very good
Location was good and the balcony
Being an asthmatic there was a very strong smell of cigarettes in the flat and ash still in the ashtray..but after going out for a few hours and leaving the windows and doors open. Perhaps instructions for TV coffee machine etc would be good..we were just given the keys and the girl left straight away
Perfect stay in Berlin 5*****
Top location in the heart of Berlin. It is a central apartment which we really liked and which has a typical Berlin charm. From the first contact with questions and the check-in/check-out went smoothly and very uncomplicated. The host offers a TOP service. The facilities exceeded our expectations. The apartment has a balcony with a seating area. The apartment was very well heated, which is very important in the cold season. The location is directly opposite the subway station. All in all a perfect stay. Highly recommended 5*****
Great base for exploring Berlin
Loved having the balcony to be able to sit out on. The directions sent by the owner made getting there very easy and the building was just 40 metres from the elevator at the underground station. Aldi was just a 2 minute walk away! Would definitely stay here again.
Only thing I didn't like was not having a mat in the bathtub when using the shower.

Exceptional
It is spacious and very well situated, close to metro station, walking distance to Alexanderplatz, shops around.
The apartment is facing a highly trafficked street. However, it was quiet in the apartment and did not bother us at all even if we are sensitive sleepers.
Well Equipped and in a Great Location
Clean and well-equipped. Great location and the apartment was warm & very quiet.

Perfect location!
Location, very central, 50 meters from supermarkt en metrostation. Its not the most cosy surroundings but we hired bikes and within 10 minutes you're in Kreutzberg and Friedichshein The bed is very good, nothing was missing. Communication with the landlord was good and fast. We were with two, so it was spacious

Comfortable, warm and cozy
Small but cozy, very convenient with the U-Bahn subway. It was warm and has a comfortable bed and sofa bed.
A simple touch like providing tea bags and bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner would be great!
