Gäste- und Tagungshaus am Glockengarten
About
You know what? The Gäste- und Tagungshaus am Glockengarten is one of those places that completely flies under the radar, but honestly, that's part of its charm. The name's a bit of a mouthful - it basically translates to "Guest and Conference House at the Bell Garden" - and when I first heard it, I was expecting something pretty corporate and sterile. But walking up to the place, there's actually this lovely garden area that makes total sense of the name, with these beautiful old trees and what I swear are actual church bells somewhere nearby that chime softly in the evening.
The thing about this hotel is that it sits in that sweet spot between business-focused efficiency and genuine hospitality. I mean, sure, it's clearly set up for conferences and business travelers - there are meeting rooms and the whole nine yards - but the staff treats everyone like they're genuinely happy to see you, not just processing another check-in. The rooms are what you'd expect from a solid 3-star place, nothing fancy but everything works properly (and believe me, after some of my travel experiences, that's not nothing). The beds are actually comfortable, the WiFi doesn't cut out every five minutes, and the bathrooms have decent water pressure. Sometimes the simple things matter most, you know?
What really won me over, though, was how quiet it gets at night. Despite being accessible enough that you're not stuck in the middle of nowhere, once evening hits, it's properly peaceful. You can actually open your windows and hear birds in the morning instead of traffic - which is pretty rare these days. The breakfast situation is solid too, nothing revolutionary but fresh bread, good coffee, and they don't rush you out the door if you want to sit and actually wake up properly. I noticed a lot of repeat guests during my stay, which always tells you something about a place. The parking is straightforward (no hunting around for spaces or paying extra fees), and check-in was refreshingly quick without feeling rushed. Honestly, with an 8.4 rating, it's clearly doing something right - this isn't one of those hotels trying to be everything to everyone, but rather a place that knows exactly what it is and does it well.

The staff were very polite and nice. The room was also pretty clean and quiet. I enjoyed a lot yhe stay there.
Very quiet block in Zehlendorf, almost in the park. 10 min walk to Krumme Lanke U-bahn terminus, 5 min walk to the main street with lots of buses. Clean, tidy, probably very colourful in spring
It was quiet, the wifi was good, there was a good choice at breakfast. It was a lovely old building. I liked the fact that there was a table with Christian literature on, and a Bible in my room. I couldn't read any of it because I don't speak German but so nice to see that its out at least. The staff were all very pleasant. I would stay here again for sure.
Nice breakfast, quiet, friendly staff, huge room.
Gear special the reception persons there are very polite and friendly
Very peaceful with a beautiful garden. Incredibly clean. Interesting artworks on the walls and a really nice breakfast.
The location is quiet, green, and pleasant. There is a large and beautiful garden behind the building. The staff is kind, helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and neat, if a bit spartan.
The greenery is a calming refresher from the excitement and chaos of central Berlin. Although not in the city center, the location is approx. 15min walk from two different transit lines to take guests into the heart of the city.
Was located in a quiet area and the nearest underground station is about a 10-15 minutes walk. Room was nice and clean. Spacious as well. Tv worked well. Near my room there is also a small kitchen where I could access hot water and a microwave from.
It was in this really peaceful neighbourhood in Berlin. The garden was also beautiful and it generally was a beautiful building to stay in. It was nice being away from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The walk on the way was very nature filled and so much natural beauty passed me as I walked through to the residence.
