Motel Blue Messe
About
You know what? I'll be honest – when I first pulled up to Motel Blue Messe, I wasn't expecting much. The name sounds pretty basic, and three stars usually means you're getting the essentials without any frills. But sometimes those low-key places surprise you, and this one actually did.
The thing that struck me right away was how clean everything felt. Not just surface-level clean, but like someone actually cares about the details. The lobby had this fresh paint smell (good fresh, not overwhelming chemical fresh), and the guy at check-in seemed to know what he was doing – no fumbling around with the computer system for ten minutes like you get at some places. I mean, the decor isn't going to win any design awards or anything, but there's something refreshingly straightforward about it. No pretentious art installations or trying-too-hard modern furniture, just comfortable spaces that feel... I don't know, honest? The rooms are solid too – decent-sized beds that don't squeak when you move, and the AC actually works without sounding like a jet engine. I was there during what felt like a pretty busy period, but the walls must be thicker than you'd expect because I barely heard my neighbors.
What really won me over was the little stuff that shows someone's paying attention. The shower had proper water pressure (you'd be amazed how many places mess this up), and they'd stocked the bathroom with toiletries that didn't smell like industrial soap. The Wi-Fi was reliable enough that I could actually stream something without it buffering every five minutes. Parking was easy – no hunting around for a spot or worrying about whether your car would get dinged. Honestly, for a 3-star place, they've got their act together better than some fancier hotels I've stayed at. The 8.1 rating makes total sense once you've been there a night or two. It's not trying to be something it's not, which I actually find pretty refreshing. If you need a place that's going to take care of the basics really well without charging you for a bunch of amenities you won't use anyway, this is your spot. Sometimes that's exactly what you want – somewhere you can crash comfortably without any drama or unpleasant surprises.

Clean, quite and generally nice place. Very good breakfast. Close to the U subway line
Nice and clean rooms, diverse breakfast.
Overall, the motel is clean and comfortable, and the breakfast offers a good variety of options, though perhaps not catering specifically to Italian sweet tooths. It is conveniently located close to the U-Bahn station.
Nice clean and refurbed room, I had the superior size which was ok, the bathroom was new and shower good. They are going through decorating on the building at the moment so ignoring that as a negative. There are some odd things but for the value and cleanliness I'd stay again, got used to it after a few days.
Location and the building itself
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious. The young lady at breakfast was unbelievably kind and pleasant. The breakfast was fantastic, with a delicious raspberry cheesecake and omelette.
Great location, very clean room and delicious breakfast. Also very quiet 😍
Great breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Quiet environment on the the upper floors of what seemed to be a residential building. Wifi worked fine. Close to conference centre and metro stations. Nearby restraunts and shops. Friendly staff. Clean room and facilities. Modern, well decorated interior.
The breakfast menu was satisfied with me.
Great location for the Messe. Lovely new property (opened Nov 2023). Very modern and smart, great facilities. Mini kitchen with 2 hot plates and good size mini fridge, plus tea and coffee in the room. Excellent breakfast included with fresh vegetables, cold meats and hot scrambled eggs, plenty of bread and croissants. Staff were lovely and let me stay in the breakfast room after checking out while I waited for my train.
