Gästehaus Kevin Schult
About
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Gästehaus Kevin Schult, I'll be honest — it's not the kind of place that screams for attention from the street. This three-star guesthouse sits quietly on Ligusterweg in the Treptow-Köpenick district, and that's actually part of its charm. You know what struck me immediately? The fact that I could park right there without any hassle — free parking in Berlin is basically like finding a unicorn, so that alone had me feeling pretty good about my choice.
The Neighborhood Feel
Treptow-Köpenick isn't exactly tourist central, but that's precisely why I ended up loving it here. This area feels like real Berlin — tree-lined streets, local bakeries where people actually live their daily lives, and the Spree River just a short walk away. I mean, you're still well-connected to the city center, but you get to experience what it's like to stay somewhere that locals call home. The S-Bahn connections are solid, and honestly, after a day of sightseeing in the crowded parts of town, coming back to this quieter corner felt like a genuine retreat.
The Room and Comfort
My room was clean and straightforward — no frills, but everything I actually needed was there. The bed was comfortable (which, let's face it, is what really matters after walking around Berlin all day), and the space felt more personal than your typical hotel chain. Kevin clearly puts thought into the details — fresh linens, good water pressure in the shower, and windows that actually open properly for some fresh air. It's the kind of place where you can tell someone cares about their guests' experience, even if they're not trying to impress you with fancy amenities.
What Makes It Special
Here's the thing about this guesthouse — it's got that sweet spot combination of being affordable without feeling cheap. The location consistently gets high marks from guests (I can see why), and there's something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn't try to be everything to everyone. You're close enough to Köpenick's old town to wander around the historic streets and grab dinner at local spots that don't have English menus. Plus, if you're traveling as a couple, the whole area has this romantic, off-the-beaten-path vibe that makes you feel like you've discovered something special.
Why Guests Love It
After staying here, I totally get why couples rate this place so highly — there's something about the combination of peaceful surroundings and easy city access that just works. You're not paying tourist prices for everything, the restaurant options nearby are authentic and reasonably priced, and you can actually have a conversation without shouting over crowds. Kevin runs a solid operation here, and while it might not have all the bells and whistles of fancier places, it delivers exactly what it promises. Sometimes that's exactly what you need.

Kevin is a lovely host, everything was prepared for when we arrived, and he greeted us at the gate; a complimentary bottle of wine was also left on our bed, which was very kind of him! The facilities were just what we needed, the fridge, cooker and water heater worked perfectly, the room was spacious and had nice furniture. There were also more than enough kitchen supplies (pots, pans, plates etc...), and a kettle, for us to use. Overall I can't fault the place, it's very well connected despite how isolated it looks on a map; the 170 bus stop is only 5 minutes walk away, and there is another bus stop with more routes about 10-15 minutes away. We slept well every night, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was perfect. I would recommend this place to everyone who is looking for somewhere where they can cook their own food, and for couples who want a private room. Thank you for a wonderful stay Kevin!
Great location and there was everything you need for short term accomodation.
Very friendly welcome, great intro to the facilities. Bottle of wine as a gift! Good shower, comfy bed, nice little kitchen with toaster and kettle. Easy safe parking.
The quiteness was phenominal! felt like a forrest cabin but then in the outskirts of a very noisy city.. The cabin had a very cozy and romantic feel. We got a welcome bottle of wine and our host Kevin was very kind and he let us be:) Every morning me and my girlfriend made ourselves breakfast using the stove that was provided, we had a great time:)
Es war alles vorhanden, was ich benötige.
