Hotel Vivaldi Berlin am Kurfürstendamm
About
You know what struck me first about Hotel Vivaldi Berlin? It's one of those places that doesn't try too hard, and honestly, that works in its favor. Walking in from the Kurfürstendamm area, you immediately get that this is a proper Berlin neighborhood hotel – the kind where the staff actually remembers your name by day two, and the lobby has this lived-in feel that fancy chain hotels never quite manage. The 3-star rating is pretty spot-on; they're not pretending to be something they're not, but what they do, they do well. I mean, the rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works. The beds are actually decent – I've stayed in 4-star places with worse mattresses, to be honest.
What I really appreciated was how the place sits in the city. You're close enough to Kurfürstendamm that you can walk to all the main shopping and restaurant action, but far enough away that you're not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your window. The area has that authentic Berlin vibe – you'll find yourself grabbing coffee at local cafés where the baristas speak more German than English, which I sort of love. The hotel staff was genuinely helpful too, not in that scripted way but like they actually wanted to help. When I asked about getting to Kreuzberg one evening, the guy at the front desk drew me a little map showing which U-Bahn connections would be fastest. Small thing, but it mattered.
Look, with a 7.0 rating, you're getting exactly what you'd expect – solid, unpretentious accommodation that won't blow your mind but won't disappoint either. The breakfast was surprisingly good (proper German bread, not the weird international hotel stuff), and the whole place has this relaxed energy that just works. If you're the type who needs marble bathrooms and 24-hour room service, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want a comfortable base to explore Berlin without paying premium prices, and you appreciate places with actual character over corporate polish, Hotel Vivaldi hits that sweet spot perfectly. Plus, being on a quieter street means you'll actually sleep well – something I definitely can't say about every Berlin hotel I've tried.

Clean room, clean bed, clean bathroom, quiet neighborhood, close to supermarket and metro
Great location and amenities for the price.
Nice atmosphere of the old building
Staff virtually non existent. No breakfast but plenty of opportunities close by.
The room was the same which was showed in picture. The room was quite spacious and clean. The biggest advantage is that it is very close to train and bus station and we do not have to walk long distances.
Nice and clean hotel and room, comfortable bed, great room cleaning service and good bathroom. Good location. Easy and quick check in and check out.
Nice comfy clean
Room was large and comfortable. Shower worked well. Room was very quiet, no external noise was audible. Location was great, 4 minutes walk to Savignyplatz railway station. Also close to cafes and restaurants.
Close enough to city
