About
Honestly, when I first walked up to this place on Katzbachstraße, I wasn't sure what to expect – the name alone is a mouthful, right? But KATZ by ROCKCHAIR turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you discovered something special in Berlin. It's tucked away in Kreuzberg, which I mean, if you know Berlin at all, you know this neighborhood has that perfect mix of edgy and livable that locals actually want to hang out in.
The apartment itself feels like someone's cool friend let you crash at their place, except everything actually works and the beds are ridiculously comfortable. Those boxspring beds aren't just marketing speak – I slept better here than I have in most hotels, and I'm usually the person tossing and turning in unfamiliar places. The three bedrooms are laid out smart too, so you're not stepping on each other if you're traveling with family or colleagues. What really got me was the attention to detail – good lighting (seriously, why do so many places get this wrong?), enough outlets where you actually need them, and bathrooms that don't feel like afterthoughts. The whole "cozy family and business flair" thing in the name sounds cheesy, but it's actually accurate. You know what I mean? It works whether you're here with kids who need space to spread out or you're trying to get work done between meetings.
Location-wise, you're in the heart of things without being right on top of the tourist chaos. Kreuzberg has this lived-in feel that's hard to fake – actual cafes where locals read newspapers, not just Instagram spots. I could walk to the canal when I needed to clear my head, and getting to other parts of the city was straightforward once I figured out the U-Bahn connections. The street itself is residential enough that you can sleep with windows open (which I always prefer), but you're still close enough to decent restaurants that you don't have to plan every meal like a military operation. The SUPERHOST thing isn't just a badge either – check-in was smooth, they responded quickly when I had questions, and they clearly know what travelers actually need versus what looks good in photos. With an 8.6 rating, it's hitting that sweet spot where it's good enough that people genuinely recommend it, but not so perfect that you wonder what they're hiding.

Perfect for groups.great locationallocal amenities
Absolutely everything. This was a last minute decision to visit Berlin. Everything was very clear and simple. Great for groups. Fantastic facilities.
Nothing.
Great location, close to subway and many amenities. Very comfortable first-floor flat.
The location was excellent: two blocks from the subway, close to cafes and shopping and in a quiet, residential neighborhood. The flat had everything we needed and was well-appointed. The beds were extremely comfortable. The hosts responded to our needs in a timely fashion
We had trouble with the WiFi service the first day until the hosts promptly brought us a new router.
Large Apartment for Family
We loved that it was large and had pretty much whatever you would need for your stay. I found it very sweet that each single ( child's) bed had a tiny gummy bear package, and there was sparkling wine for the adults. Any questions we had were answered promptly. The space was large and comfortable.
We didn't like that there wasn't a description of the entrance, so we had a difficult time finding it. We ultimately had to call the property manager to find it. The surrounding area didn't look so great, but we only saw it late at night, so that impression may have changed if we had stayed longer.
Great location, good size for group of six/3 couples. Kitchen had everything we needed.
Ground floor was very convenient. Big and airy and very well connected for buses. Very clean.
Bathrooms (2) were both together and beside one bedroom, other two bedrooms were on other side of kitchen and sitting room. Only other fault was poor curtains which did not keep out morning light.
Exceptional
Spacious, clean and quiet and next door to a lovely vegatarian cafe
Exceptional
Thank you very much for the wonderful time. We stayed as a family: 4 adults and 2 children. The apartment had three bedrooms, was spacious and cozy. It had everything we needed: plenty of dishes, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. The apartment was very clean. The host was very kind and responded quickly to all requests. We easily found the apartment and discovered the entrance. The location is convenient, close to the subway and bus stops. A wonderful park is located near the apartment. The area is quiet and the infrastructure is good, with a store and a café nearby, and an Italian restaurant is also nearby. We highly recommend this accommodation for those who want to spend time in Berlin.
Amazing place to stay, would definitely stay there again!
Quiet place, bakery right besides it, shops are nearby. The apartment was very spacious and great for colleagues travelling together or families. Two bathrooms are a great addition to everything we had there. Enjoyed the big kitchen and the living room to watch some TV in the evenings. Thanks to the great hosts!
Not really the hosts fault, but taxi services are awful in Germany, no one wants to take you to apartment, they cancel ride after you say that no airport. Need to think about times when to leave the apartment, because every day the traffic is different.
Would definitely recommend and stay at this apartment in the future! It was a home away from home!
The apartment was perfect for our family of 8. We were there for both vacation and work, so the apartment gave us ample space to both get work done and enjoy our vacation. The host was very nice and promptly responded when we needed support. And the location is really awesome, with Victoria Park right across the street and cafes next door. It was only 10 mins from downtown.
Everything was pretty awesome. My only issue was that the right bathroom shower was filling up with water because the drain was clogged and not cleaned before we arrived, which made the water from the shower drip out of the shower stall making the floor wet. This happened immediately after I took a shower when I arrived. I ended up cleaning the drain and the floor. Once the drain is emptied, we didn't have the same issue. Also, if you are driving a car, there is metered parking in front, but it can be difficult to find parking in the late evening when most people are back home.
Big house in Berlin
The home was BIG ..and beautiful ! Lot's of room and having 2 bathrooms for 5 adults was great ! Gratefull to have the washer & dryer available as well (3+ hours to do 1 load and it will not dry completely, iron and ironing board available). Location was very good, bus stops and U-bahn, coffee shop, Market and restaurants nearby. Soren and his team were wonderful to us, very patient and helpful.
It was rather chilly in the house. And there are kids in the building, so you will hear them. Internet works fine, but the TV never worked (we wanted to check weather and had some evenings with down time, but TV rarely worked). Limited condiments available.
