Loft46 – Self Checkin – Long and Shortstay
About
So I stumbled upon Loft46 during one of those frantic Berlin apartment hunts, and honestly? It's become my go-to recommendation for anyone staying in Charlottenburg longer than a weekend. The whole self check-in thing had me nervous at first – you know how these things can go sideways – but they've actually nailed it. You get clear instructions beforehand, and the building on Berliner Straße is pretty straightforward to find, even if you're dragging luggage up to the fourth floor (fair warning on that one).
What I love about this spot is how it sits right in the sweet spot of Berlin living. You're in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, which means you get that proper residential vibe without being stuck in tourist central, but you're still connected to everything that matters. The S-Bahn connections are solid – Heidelberger Platz is walkable, and from there you can hit Potsdamer Platz or Brandenburg Gate without the hassle. There's this great little bakery just down the street that does proper German breakfast rolls, and honestly, starting your morning there beats any hotel breakfast buffet. The neighborhood gets quiet at night too, which is clutch if you're trying to actually sleep (unlike some places in Mitte where the party never stops).
The loft itself feels more like borrowing a friend's place than staying in some sterile hotel room. I mean, it's not luxury – it's a solid 3-star setup – but everything works, the WiFi doesn't cut out during video calls, and there's enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The kitchen situation is perfect for longer stays, and you'll appreciate having real plates and coffee that doesn't come from a packet. The whole place has this lived-in comfort that makes those week-long business trips or extended city breaks feel way less exhausting. Plus, at an 8.1 rating, you know other people are having decent experiences too – not just me being overly optimistic about Berlin real estate. If you're planning to explore the city properly and want somewhere that feels like a temporary home base rather than just a place to crash, this works really well.

Excellent location and apartment in Charlottenburg.
Great location for access around Berlin. Excellent rooms. Clean and good facilities.
Not an issue for me but to be aware that the property is the top apartment, only stairs to access the apartment 75 steps.
Nice place to stay!
Big room, relatively close to the center by metro. Comfortable bed, easy to check in. Kitchen is shared and could be cleaned more often. 4th floor without elevator is also little disadvantage. But good value for money overall.
Fantastic for a long term stay!
How private it was! I loved how it has washing machines which saved me money on laundromats and was able to dry my clothes using the clothing rack provided. Security was great. I would come back if staying in Berlin long term.
Nothing at all!
Good
There are plenty of facilities - microwave, washing machine and so on The room is spacious
Be aware - it's not a private property - it's a flat that you share with other people - so the only private thing you have is room. They advertise it as you'll have privacy of the whole apartment and I think it's incredibly misleading and they should correct it right away. The contact with staff is no existent/ minimal, not a very customer oriented staff to be honest, I think more contact/ quicker replies are necessary if you rent out a room on booking.
My legs got a work out but the accomodation was great
Heaps of space to stretch out. Nice to chat with other guests. Great kitchen. Double washing machine so you don't have to wait. Well labelled and organised pantry and fridge. Clean bathrooms. Short walk (German distances not American) to three different train lines. Lots of storage and hanging space. Good communication from the owners (with a warning about the stairs). 2 supermarkets nearby.
The four flights of stairs are going to be a negative to anyone not used to them and on holiday (or not visiting for the Berlin Marathon). What was a negative was that the showers and toilets were allocated to a set of rooms. This meant that if your neighbour was using the toilet, it was 'suggested' that you should wait, rather than just use one of the other two. This may be because of the deluxe vs budget rooms? Modelled after an airplane's business class toilet? Also be aware of the salsa studio upstairs. It was only a minor issue on the first night. The walls are also thin so I could hear people in the next room.
Excellent
Really satisfied with accommodation clean, impressed with well organized kitchen.
Good
Easy check in, big room, near the metro
No answers from the staff after requesting an invoice
Excellent!
Very large room space with sofa and desk for two people. We got everything we need: washing machine, kitchen… It is very convenient that they have 3 bathrooms - we never need to wait during our 7-days stay. The cleaning was done almost everyday. Unless you have very bad roommates, everything will be clean. Very close to metro, food and grocery store.
My drinks in the fridge were taken away by someone. Not the property’s fault though.
Superb
My room was spacious with windows to inner yard without any disturbing sounds during the night. There was everything what you need for a one week stay. The location is also fine, walking distance to ubahn and all necessary shops. There are seven rooms and three bathrooms, all of them clean without waiting in the morning.
4 night stay in Berlin
Very spacious and clean room, super comfortable bed. Shared bathroom was clean most of the times, but it's up to the common sense of the guests to keep it clean.
The room was on the fourth floor and the building had no elevator.
