About this stay

About

You know what? I wasn't expecting much when I first walked into Nena Apartments Metropolpark in Mitte – honestly, the name is a bit of a mouthful and doesn't give away much. But this adult-only spot actually surprised me in the best way possible. It's tucked into one of those classic Berlin neighborhoods where you can feel the city's energy without being right in the thick of tourist chaos, and I mean, being in Mitte means you're literally at the heart of everything that matters in Berlin.

The apartments themselves have this understated charm that grows on you. Nothing flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just works in that practical German way. The spaces feel lived-in rather than sterile – which honestly is refreshing after staying in too many cookie-cutter hotels. I loved that there's actual kitchen space where you can brew proper coffee in the morning, and the beds are surprisingly comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in European apartments). What really sold me was the neighborhood vibe – you'll find yourself walking to proper local bakeries instead of hotel breakfast buffets, and there's something genuinely satisfying about picking up fresh bread from places where the staff actually remembers your order after a couple days.

The adult-only policy might seem limiting, but it actually creates this relaxed atmosphere where people aren't rushing around with strollers or dealing with cranky kids in the hallways. I noticed guests tend to be either couples exploring the city or solo travelers who appreciate having some quiet space to decompress after walking Berlin's endless streets. Sure, it's a three-star place, so don't expect marble bathrooms or 24-hour room service, but that 8.1 rating makes sense when you realize what they're actually delivering – solid, no-nonsense accommodations in a location that lets you experience Berlin like you're temporarily living there rather than just passing through. The whole setup works especially well if you're planning to be out exploring during the day and just need a comfortable, peaceful base to return to at night.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Berlin at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak summer season when the city hosts numerous outdoor festivals and cultural events.

Had a comfortable stay, the apartment looks exactly like the photos. What stood out was the 5 star service I experienced with one of the property managers Yens who went out of his way to help me with first aid care throughout my stay for an injury I had - thank you Yens!

The renovation is not very recent; it could use an update. There’s mold in the bathroom.
