Osthafen II
About
First Impressions
Walking up to Osthafen II on Stralauer Allee, you'll notice it doesn't try too hard to impress — and honestly, that's part of its charm. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, one of Berlin's most vibrant neighborhoods, and it feels like it belongs here. The building has that understated Berlin vibe where function meets comfort without any unnecessary fuss. The straightforward approach to hospitality here means you get exactly what you need without pretension or inflated pricing.
Location & Neighborhood
Here's what makes this spot special — you're actually in the thick of things without being overwhelmed by tourist crowds. Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is where locals hang out, and you'll find yourself walking past street art that changes weekly, cozy cafés that don't close until late, and bars that somehow feel both edgy and welcoming. The Spree River is just a short stroll away, and if you're into exploring Berlin's alternative scene, you've hit the jackpot. Couples consistently rate this location 8.0 out of 10, and recent guests have been giving it an 8.5 — there's clearly something special happening here. The neighborhood pulses with creative energy and authentic Berlin culture that you simply won't find in more touristy districts.
The Room Experience
The room itself is what you'd expect from a solid three-star place — clean, functional, and surprisingly quiet given the lively neighborhood outside. You won't find marble bathrooms or Egyptian cotton sheets, but everything works well and feels fresh. The windows are decent-sized, so you get good natural light during the day, which actually makes a bigger difference than you'd think when you're trying to shake off jet lag or just want to feel human after a long day of sightseeing. Each room is thoughtfully designed to maximize comfort while maintaining practical efficiency.
Getting Around
What really works about staying here is how connected you are to the rest of Berlin. The public transport links are solid — you can hop on the U-Bahn or catch a tram without much hassle, and suddenly Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, or even Charlottenburg feel totally accessible. But honestly, you might find yourself just walking everywhere because this part of the city is so walkable and there's always something interesting to stumble across. The central location puts you within easy reach of major attractions while keeping you grounded in authentic local life.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Osthafen II isn't trying to be the fanciest hotel in Berlin, and that's exactly why it works so well. You're getting a comfortable base in one of the city's coolest neighborhoods without paying premium prices for amenities you probably won't use anyway. The 7.7 rating reflects what this place actually is — reliable, well-located, and honest about what it offers. If you want to experience Berlin like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through, this is the kind of place that lets you do that without breaking the bank. The hotel's commitment to straightforward hospitality and genuine value makes it an excellent choice for discerning travelers.

The place was simple. We did not hangout. We used it for sleep and shower. It met our needs and it was clean.
The apartment itself was nice , quite big and had everything we needed . Great location
Excellent place overall. Very cozy. The kitchen is very complete with all necessary things incl. amenities such as salt, cooking oil, etc. The place was also very clean. Many bus stops and SBahn stations nearby. We enjoyed it a lot!
Location and the place itself were very nice
The mattress was comfortable. Very clean and well located. It was easy to do the check-in.
Apartment was clean and location was good. Bed was nice to sleep. Quiet house, own out door wich was great. We liked apartment! Owner answered very fast and she was nice.
Simple IKEA design with some decorations, but everything is cosy, nice, good location and clean. Would recommend.
The apartment is self catering and has all the utensils that you could require, however, being close to Simon-Dach-Strasse this was never an issue. It's spacious, clean, comfortable and at €200 a night it's fairly priced.
The location was great, the flat was nice, clean and easy access. It's comfortable fro 4 people. The apartment is on the ground floor, so it does not overheat in the summer.
A spacious ground-floor apartment with its own entrance; fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, location better than it seemed on the map (a bit of an "in-between" area, but surprisingly quiet given that one bedroom fronts a large road), next to the Spree and very much accessible to Friedrichshain and East Kreuzberg on foot and the rest of Berlin by U- and S-bahn from Warsauerstrasse. Two supermarkets and some very nice cafes within a 15-min walk over a railway bridge with the best sunset views in Berlin.
