The Lohmeyerstr III, lovely 2 BR, group & family friendly, 2- 4 Guests
About
Honestly, when I first walked up to The Lohmeyerstr III, I wasn't expecting much from the outside – it's tucked into a pretty typical Berlin residential street in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. But you know what? That's actually part of its charm. You're staying in a real neighborhood where locals grab their morning coffee and kids bike to school, not some touristy bubble.
The apartment itself surprised me in the best way. Two proper bedrooms that actually fit real furniture (not those cramped hotel rooms where you're bumping into everything), and the living space feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile. I mean, it's clearly set up for travelers, but whoever furnished this place understood that families need space to spread out. The kitchen's got everything you'd actually use – I made breakfast there every morning and it felt natural, not like I was working around missing essentials. The bathroom situation works well for a group too, though if you're four adults, you'll need to coordinate a bit during morning routines.
Location-wise, this is where it gets interesting. Lohmeyerstraße isn't flashy, but it puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to the S-Bahn at Charlottenburg in about ten minutes, and suddenly all of Berlin opens up. What I loved though was coming back in the evenings – the street gets properly quiet after dark, which is gold when you're traveling with kids or just want to actually sleep. There's a decent Turkish place two blocks down that locals seem to frequent (always a good sign), and if you walk toward Kantstraße, you'll hit some solid neighborhood spots that don't feel like they're performing for tourists. Parking can be a bit of a dance if you're driving – typical Berlin street parking situation where you might circle once or twice, but it's not impossible.
The 7.6 rating makes sense to me, actually. This isn't luxury accommodation, and the building shows its age in small ways – the hallway lighting is pretty dim, and you can hear some neighbor noise if they're being loud. But for what it is – a proper apartment where you can settle in for a few days rather than just crash – it delivers. The host was responsive when I had questions, and check-in was straightforward once I figured out the building entrance (there's a trick to the front door that they explain well in their instructions, just read them carefully).
I'd definitely recommend this for families or small groups who want to experience Berlin from a residential perspective rather than staying in the tourist corridor. The price point feels honest for what you get, and there's something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn't try to oversell itself. Just know you're trading hotel services for apartment-style independence, which honestly worked perfectly for us.

“Pratique et Agréable”
Location, as well as cleanliness and being well equipped
Nothing much, beside not having soap or hand gels, but this is minor compared to the overall good feeling
Superb
Great location for us. Quiet backyard
Shower handle holder was broken.
Everything was great, I recommend it!!!
Great! Very close to a bistro, restaurant and grocery store.
Everythning was fine.
Great location,
Excellent location. Close to the U-Bahn and very quiet. Great big bathroom
Very limited natural light due as it was an „Innenhof“ apartment. Wasn’t cleaned under their bed for a good while.. späte collection of dust and used candy paper. Bedrooms don’t have much space and if you have to use the couch in the living room it blocks the way to the bathroom.
An attractive and comfortable apartment in a quiet, well located area that provided the perfect start to our stay in Ber
The apartment was well located in a quiet, pretty street with easy access to the U Bahn and to local shops and restaurants. It was an extremely comfortable place to stay and was the perfect choice for our first week in Berlin.
Nothing
Strongly recommend!
Comfortable!
Slow(useless) internet, but not a problem at all.
Fantastic apartment in a quite area but with easy access of all parts of berlin
From the moment I booked this fantastic apartment, the communication from the owners has been nothing but brilliant. The apartment is located near Ubahn Stations for easy access to all parts of berlin. The apartment its self was very spacious and clean throughout with 2 decent sized bedrooms and is located in a quiet area of berlin Thank you for a great stay
Nothing
Pleasant
It was clean tidy and perfect for a few days stay.
The bedding was uncomfortable. The quilt cover was scratchy not cotton or comfy and the pillows were just strange. Big square air pillows, not supportive we managed to buy some cushions that we used. No hairdryer when stated there was. No wardrobe available for use in second room it was locked up. No blind in the shower room that opened onto a courtyard bit bizarre when the light was on you could see an outline. We wouldn’t stay again based on above.
Good stay overall.
Easy to find. Well appointed. Nicely decorated and well equipped.
The heater in the bathroom is leaking and needs repairing. A light bulb was missing from one of the lamps in the bedroom.
Berlin is worth every stay ... if you find somewhere to stay that is worth the money paid
The best of this flat is its location in a very quiet, yet very central area of Charlottenburg (food store, bakery, restaurants, bus stops, tube station, pharmacy ... all within a short walking distance). The welcoming staff was very friendly and helpful.
The Hinterhaus flat is rather sparsely equipped and seemingly smaller than stated: It says 65 sqm in the description, but if you look closer on arrival, you will realise that there might not be many more than 45-50 sqm (the flat is rectangular, so it's not difficult to check). We contacted the host about this issue, and they wanted to talk to their management, but nothing happened. Booking.com Customer Services reached out to them on our behalf - only to find out that "no compensation could be provided in this case". There were no reasons given for this decision. So, in the end, we are left with the uncomfortable feeling that we might have paid ca. 20-25% more than necessary for an already quite expensive flat. We would have been happy to receive proof of the contrary before leaving our review.
