Adina Apartment Hotel Berlin Checkpoint Charlie
About
You know what struck me first about the Adina Apartment Hotel Berlin Checkpoint Charlie? It's actually in one of those spots where you feel the weight of history just walking down the street, but somehow the hotel itself feels refreshingly modern without trying too hard. I mean, you're literally steps from where the Berlin Wall once divided the city – there's something pretty incredible about sipping your morning coffee while looking out at Friedrichstraße, knowing what happened right here decades ago.
The apartment-style setup is honestly perfect if you're planning to stay more than a couple nights. I'm talking proper kitchenettes with everything you'd actually need, not those sad hotel mini-fridges that barely fit a bottle of water. The living spaces feel genuinely livable – you can spread out, cook a simple dinner with groceries from the nearby markets, and actually relax instead of feeling like you're camping in a hotel room. The 8.6 rating makes total sense once you're there; it's one of those places that just works without any fuss. Check-in was smooth, the staff knew their stuff about the neighborhood (they pointed me toward this amazing little bakery on Zimmerstraße that I never would've found otherwise), and honestly, the whole experience felt more like borrowing a friend's well-appointed apartment than staying in a hotel.
What really sold me on the place was how it sits in the middle of everything without feeling touristy or overwhelming. You're close enough to walk to Museum Island when you want culture, but you can also duck into proper Berlin neighborhoods where locals actually hang out. The area gets busy during the day – lots of people checking out Checkpoint Charlie and the surrounding historical sites – but evenings tend to quiet down nicely. I never had trouble sleeping, which is saying something for central Berlin. The building itself has this solid, substantial feel, and you get the sense they've thought through the details that matter to people who are actually living there temporarily. Little things like good water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, and wifi that works in every corner of the apartment. It's the kind of place where you start planning your next Berlin trip before you've even checked out.
Early hotels booking in Berlin is essential during major events like the Berlinale Film Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city's renowned nightlife and cultural scene.

What a great place to stay when visiting Berlin! You feel at home for sure. The staff, especially Fran, we're very helpful and friendly. The facilities are top notch. The parking was easy and secure making it worth the extra cost. It is located in walking distance to many of the must-see sights in downtown Berlin. The staff provided a map highlighted with major attractions.
Wonderful central yet quiet apartment. All the amenities of an apartment, great size room, very comfy overall
Well positioned and a great apartment. Very spacious!
Great breakfast. Wonderful staff. Amazing room. Great location.
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was spacious and comfortable. The washing machine and dryer was a handy edition. The buffet breakfast had a good selection. It did get busy and sometimes there were not enough tables and chairs to eat at, so you had to use the comfy chairs and low tables. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location - walking distance to checkpoint Charlie and the train / underground station. When we were there, there was a lot of road works outside, but we used the underground car park which was a good addition.
The staff were good The pool was cold The restaurant and bar was closed for majority of our stay The one bedroom suite was roomy
