Garner Hotel Berlin – Wilmersdorf by IHG
About
You know what struck me first about the Garner Hotel Berlin? It's tucked away on Albrecht-Achilles-Straße in this wonderfully quiet corner of Wilmersdorf that most tourists never discover. I mean, you're still totally connected to everything – the Fehrbelliner Platz U-Bahn is practically around the corner – but there's something refreshingly un-touristy about waking up here. The street itself has that lovely tree-lined residential feel that makes you feel like you're actually living in Berlin for a few days, not just passing through.
The hotel itself is honestly what I'd call unpretentiously comfortable. It's a 3-star property under the IHG umbrella, so you know what to expect in terms of reliability, but there's a distinctly German efficiency to how everything runs. Check-in was smooth (they actually had my room ready early, which never happens), and the lobby has this clean, modern vibe without trying too hard to be trendy. The rooms are well-sized by European standards – I could actually open my suitcase fully on the floor, which is saying something. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night; you're on a residential street, so no late-night bar crowds stumbling around outside your window.
Here's the thing that makes this spot work so well – you're positioned perfectly between Charlottenburg's more polished attractions and Wilmersdorf's authentic neighborhood life. Walk ten minutes east and you'll hit the buzzy cafes and shops along Kantstraße, but step out your front door and there's this fantastic little Turkish bakery that locals queue up at every morning. The nearby Preußenpark has that weekend Thai market (absolute must if you're there Saturday or Sunday), and honestly, I found myself just wandering these residential streets in the evenings because they're so peaceful. Parking can be a bit tricky if you're driving – street parking requires some patience and those German parking apps – but the public transport connections more than make up for it. The 7.8 rating feels about right; it's not going to blow you away with luxury, but it delivers exactly what you need with a level of thoughtfulness that makes your stay genuinely pleasant rather than just functional.

Superb
A nice place in a quiet neighborhood. Everything was clean. Staff were really nice. Even got a cup of tea free of charge when we got back in the middle of the night with a stomach ache.
Great relaxing stay with public transportation and restaurants nearby.
Very easy check in and was helped right away. Room was very nice and clean.
Would've liked an airco because of the heat but other than that I had no complaints at all.

All good!
Nothing
good value for money and very friendly staff
Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The check out at 12 is plus most hotels want you to leave earlier. The staff was incredibly helpful and so friendly, amazing staff. It was exceptionally clean. Shower very hot.
There are no pans or utensils in the kitchenette. but would certainly be provided after asking the staff. But then we were only in the restaurants
Thank you, it was a cozy place with good location, nice staff and conditions to stay in Berlin!

Very good
Bathroom door was uncomfortable, as it was not possible to close it completely. There was always some space between two glass doors. Plus, the holes on the glass doors (that serve as door handles) are quite big, so you have to fill it in with tissue or towel in order not to be able to see the closet.
