HighPark Berlin am Potsdamer Platz
About
You know what struck me first about HighPark Berlin? The lobby actually feels like a place you'd want to hang out, not just rush through to get to your room. It's got this modern-meets-cozy vibe that somehow works perfectly for Potsdamer Platz – which, honestly, can feel a bit sterile with all those glass towers around. But this place manages to feel warm despite being right in the thick of Berlin's business district.
I mean, being steps away from Potsdamer Platz is pretty incredible when you think about it. You're literally walking distance from the Sony Center (those lights at night are something else), and the Philharmonie is right there if you're into that scene. What I really love though is how easy it makes getting around the rest of the city – the U-Bahn and S-Bahn connections are ridiculous. You can be in Mitte in like ten minutes, or hop over to Kreuzberg for dinner without thinking twice about it. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you get all the convenience of being central, but you're not dealing with the tourist chaos of Unter den Linden or Hackescher Markt.
The rooms are honestly better than I expected for a four-star – they've clearly put thought into the details that actually matter. The beds are properly comfortable (not just hotel-comfortable), and the bathrooms have that rainfall shower situation that makes you want to stay in longer than you should. What surprised me was how quiet it stays, even with all the construction that seems perpetually happening around Potsdamer Platz. I was worried about street noise, but they've done something right with the windows because I slept like a rock. The staff genuinely knows their stuff too – not just the tourist trap recommendations, but actual local spots worth checking out. They pointed me toward this little Vietnamese place on Bülowstraße that I never would've found otherwise.
Look, Berlin has no shortage of places to stay, and honestly, some of the boutique hotels in Prenzlauer Berg or Friedrichshain might have more character. But if you want to be in the center of things without sacrificing comfort – and I mean real comfort, not just Instagram-worthy design – this place delivers. The 8.8 rating makes sense when you're there. It's not trying to be the coolest hotel in Berlin, it's just being really good at what it does. Plus, there's something to be said for walking out your door and being able to grab coffee, hit a museum, or catch a movie at the IMAX without planning your whole day around transit. Sometimes that kind of convenience is exactly what a trip needs.

Amazing location right next to the metro and a lot of important facilities. Quiet and new components and very well equipped with technology. Very helpful and friendly reception and staff. Highly recommended👍🏼
Well located apartment close to Potsdamer Platz. Comfortable beds, powerful shower and very well equipped with dishwasher microwave, fridge etc. We stayed during Winter and the rooms were cosy with controllable temperature. Walkable to many tourist hotspots including Brandenbug Gate, The Reichstag Building and Topography of Terror. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Park U-Bahn station line U2 is located directly beneath the apartments, allowing easy navigation around other parts of Berlin.

It was very clean, easy check in procedure, v great location
Well equipped apartment, has everything you need. Good location. 20 minutes by walk to central attractions. Attentive staff.
We loved this place. I booked the studio and it was spacious and clean, with an equipped kitchen. It was also close to 2 train stations which made it easier to go from one place to another. I also liked that the shampoo, hand wash and moisturizer was from Rituals 🥰
