Motel Plus Berlin
About
Look, I'll be straight with you about Motel Plus Berlin – it's one of those places that surprises you in the best way possible. When I first pulled up to Silbersteinstraße, I honestly wasn't expecting much from the exterior (it's pretty no-frills), but once you step inside, there's this clean, modern vibe that immediately puts you at ease. The lobby's got this minimalist thing going on that actually works, and the staff behind the desk seemed genuinely happy to help rather than just going through the motions.
What really won me over, though, is how perfectly positioned this place is for actually experiencing Berlin like a local. You're right in the heart of Neukölln, which – if you haven't been – is where all the interesting stuff is happening these days. I mean, you can walk to Hermannplatz in about ten minutes, and from there the whole city opens up via the U-Bahn. But honestly? Some of my best evenings were spent just wandering the neighborhood around the hotel. There's this amazing Turkish bakery two blocks down that does these incredible börek pastries, and the whole area has this buzzing energy, especially in the evenings when people spill out of the cafés and bars. The rooms themselves are exactly what you'd expect from a solid three-star – nothing fancy, but everything works and it's spotlessly clean. I actually slept really well, which surprised me because I was worried about street noise (Silbersteinstraße can get busy), but the windows do a decent job of keeping things quiet.
Here's what I really appreciated: the little things that show someone's paying attention. The shower had proper water pressure – you know how frustrating those dribbling hotel showers can be. The Wi-Fi actually worked throughout the building, even in the elevator. And when I had to leave super early one morning, they sorted out a simple breakfast bag without making it feel like a huge favor. The whole experience just felt... practical, I guess? Like they understand that most people staying here want a clean, comfortable base to explore the city without paying tourist-trap prices. The 7.5 rating makes total sense – it's not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it absolutely delivers on what it promises. If you're the type of traveler who'd rather spend money on great food and experiences rather than thread counts and marble bathrooms, Motel Plus Berlin gets it right.

Clean and confortable
Location a bit far from everything interesting but make sense with the price
Decent value for money
Clean, decent bathroom and very comfortable bed.
A very noisy location, due to no air con we had to have the windows open and it was very hard to sleep with all of the outside noise into the very early hours of the morning. Wasn’t a big fan of the area either, not the hotel’s fault, but I wouldn’t want to stay in this area again.
Very good
Room was cleaned, toilet was ok, everything was fine, check in was fast and good.
Nothing.
Superb
Bad cell reception and WiFi is not free But it’s manageable
Good value for the money! Location was okay. 👌🏻
Rooms were like in the pictures, clean and comfortable!
There was no air conditioner, what made the room super hot, specifically at the night time. We were there 5 days and didn’t get a single “hi” from the staff 😅
Excellent place to stay
Loved the spacious room, clean facilities, and super friendly staff. This is a nice hotel with a nice atmosphere. The decor is tasteful. I felt very welcome here. I'd absolutely stay here again. Perfect location as I was going to a concert nearby. Easily accessible by U Bahn. Shower is very powerful, great pressure in it, easy to work. Also was a hairdryer which is definitely useful. Nice shower gel too. Lady at check in let me check in 45 minutes early and she was really kind, and patient with my German language, she conversed with me in German in an easy to understand way, i was so grateful she spoke German to me as I really wanted to try!! Thanks for letting me check in 45 mins early, it made a huge difference to my very busy stay!!
No air con and the walls are a little thin: I could hear next door snoring loudly: but I did get to sleep anyway. Pillows are a little thin but that's to be expected. My room was a twin so I picked which bed I wanted: one bed was quite hard, one was medium (it had a mattress topper): grateful for the choice, as i picked the medium one. These are only tiny imperfections, I wouldn't let them put me off: I'd come back in a heartbeat.
Value for money
Large room with window and a good sized bathroom
The WiFi connection was poor The entry system was confusing Few clothes and towel hooks in the bathroom The TV has many inaccessible channels Only two very small pillows
Good location, good hotel
The accommodation is very well located. It is close to the so called Ringbahn (S-Bahn S41 and S42), which takes you everywhere in Berlin, and the U8 metro line, which provides easy access to the city centre (about 25-30 minutes from Alexanderplatz). There are plenty of places to eat nearby (mainly Döner and co.) and we thought it was a nice area (although undeniably dirty), but we didn't have a bad feeling in the evening (around 10-11 pm) either. The breakfast selection was adequate for us, with plenty of food to choose from. The room was not very big, but in the end we just came home to sleep. Otherwise you can stay downstairs in the lobby. Our room faced the street, but we could sleep comfortably even with the window open. There was no air conditioning in the room and it was very hot on arrival (luckily the weather normalised later) - we didn't end up having a problem with this, but I think it can be difficult to sleep without air conditioning in the summer when it's very hot. The hotel has its own garage, which is a great advantage. There is a lift, you can go directly from the garage up to the rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful.
You have to pay for the internet, which was an unpleasant surprise. We ended up using our own mobile network. Hint: Don't smoke in the room, because the smoke alarm goes off and it's very bad to wake up at 0:30 am to the fire alarm (the firefighters came out extra fast, kudos to them), plus it must have cost the person who was smoking in the room quite a lot. (This was not the hotel's fault.)
Very good
The hotel was excellent, staff helpful, room comfortable and a good breakfast.
The local area was far from the best. It was very noisy at night and there were numerous unsavory people in the area. We were a group of four men, I certainly wouldn't use the hotel if it was just my wife and myself.
