You know what struck me first about SANA Berlin Hotel? The lobby actually feels like someone designed it for people, not just Instagram photos. The U-Bahn connections are genuinely convenient (I could get to Mitte in about 15 minutes), but you're also in a neighborhood where real Berliners live and work. There's a fantastic bakery just two blocks away that locals queue up at every morning, and honestly, their pretzels were better than anything I found near Brandenburg Gate. The hotel's restaurant is pretty decent too – not groundbreaking, but they do a proper German breakfast and their evening menu has some interesting takes on local dishes. I actually ended up eating there twice, which rarely happens when I travel.

The service sits at that sweet spot where they're professional without being stuffy. When I needed restaurant recommendations, the concierge didn't just hand me a generic list – she asked what I was in the mood for and suggested this incredible Turkish place in Kreuzberg that I never would have found otherwise.
