Victor’s Residenz-Hotel Berlin Tegel
About
You know what struck me first about Victor's Residenz-Hotel Berlin Tegel? It's honestly one of those places that doesn't try too hard to impress you – and somehow that's exactly what makes it work. I mean, sure, it's a solid 3-star spot, nothing fancy, but there's something refreshingly straightforward about it that I actually appreciated more than I expected to.
The thing about staying out in Tegel is that you're getting a completely different slice of Berlin than most tourists see. While everyone else is crammed into Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg, you're in this quieter residential area where actual Berliners live their lives. The airport's right there (well, it was until they closed it in 2020 – still feels weird walking past that empty terminal), but don't worry about noise because it's been blissfully quiet since then. What you do get is easy access to the northern parts of the city that most people skip entirely. There's this lovely stretch along the Havel river just a short walk away where locals go jogging, and honestly, some mornings I'd grab coffee from the little bakery down the street and just sit by the water instead of rushing off to tourist sites.
The rooms at Victor's are – look, I'm not going to pretend they're Instagram-worthy, but they're clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious for Berlin standards. The beds are actually decent (I'm picky about this stuff), and there's enough space to spread out your things without feeling like you're living in a shoebox. The staff seems genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. When I asked about getting to Hackescher Markt, the guy at reception actually pulled out a real map and showed me two different routes depending on whether I wanted scenic or fast. That 7.8 rating makes sense – it's not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you're the type who'd rather spend your money on great meals and experiences instead of fancy hotel amenities you'll barely use, this place gets it. Plus, parking's not the nightmare it is in central Berlin, which honestly might be worth the stay alone if you're driving.

We traveled with our dog and when we arrived to the room, there were bowls prepared for her and a treat! They also have a sign Dog alone in room, which you can put on the door for the housekeeping to know! I absolutely loved it! The best dog friendly experience in a hotel so far!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice spacey room with comfortable beds. Everything spotless clean. Bus stops close by.
The staff was really polite and helpful, they were always available no matter what, the hotel is clean and there is everything you could possibly need.
Bed + room price vs quality
Clean room, friendly reception staff. The hotel is near the bus station but quite a distance to the underground metro. There is a nice Italian Restaurant near the hotel.
